I have an F250 6.4 L. I've been hauling a 9500 pound travel trailer with no issue. My wife and I are shopping for a new one with more room. Can anyone tell me how much weight this truck can haul? Thanks for any help

I once read a post on another forum where a lady explained the difference between haul (payload) and tow very clearly. She said:

I am a gardener and often mulch my flowerbeds. Mulch comes in 40 pound sacks, and I can carry one sack at a time to my flowerbeds. My payload limit is 40 pounds. However, I have a cart that I can load 10 bags onto and pull it to my flowerbeds. My tow limit is 400 pounds.

You need to look up both your tow limit AND your payload limit. My F-150 (GVWR 7,050 pounds, GCWR 17,100 pounds) has a tow limit of 11,800 pounds, and a payload limit of 1,895 pounds. That is MY truck, yours will be different.

Looking at Fords body builder guide shows the F250/F350 SRW both have a 12500 lb conventional trailer ratings per OEM hitch. https://www.fleet.ford.com/truckbbas/non-html/2009/vs_pdf/Ford_TowGuide_03_09_09.pdf

Now in the same guide it says your truck has a 15600-16000 lb 5th wheel/GN tow ratings so we know the truck won't have any towing issues at that weigh.

Many folks with the older 3/4 and one ton trucks upgraded the low capacity OEM hitch for a full class 5 hitch like the Curt #15572 rated at 16000/15000 lb draw and 1600/1500 lb load.

I don't think anyone on here is going to say you can tow more than it's rated for.
I can tell you this, if you go too heavy you will only have an undersized tow vehicle once in your life. None of us ever make that mistake twice!

Tow and haul are two different things.

It will tow any trailer that does not overload the rear axle rating. For 5th wheels that would be in the 3000 lbs range of pin and hitch weight in the bed.

GVWR is not tow rating. Maybe your thinking GCVWR (Gross Combined Vehicle Weigt Rating) which is the limit of the actual weight of the truck plus towed rig.

Ford has great towing guides that you can google that give all pertinent specs for towing. I would leave a 80% margin from max tow rating, particularly if towing in mountains.

Thanks men. I'm aware of the Ford specs so I'm basically asking what weight people have pulled with a 2009 Ext cab 6.4 L.
The sticker on door says
Front 5,000
Rear 6,100
GVWR 9,800
But when in look up the specs on this model it says 12,500
What can I "really" do?

Just ask the RV dealer, he'll tell ya (NOT).

Seriously.. .it's not that hard. You need to know your cargo capacity. And to be more accurate, go weigh your truck, get weights for front and rear axle, and overall weight fully loaded as you intend to camp with.

Plug the numbers into this online calculatorand find out for yourself.

Payload? What do you carry in the truck? If using a weight distribution hitch (you should be), what does it weigh? A little surprised you don't seem to know much about your TV.

Auto tranny or manual tranny ?

What cab does the truck have ??

Which gear ratio ??
Devil is always in the details.

Can't say based on your info. Year, rear end, cab style all change the number.
But, if it helps check the stickers inside your driver's door, they should give you a basic idea.
Going by web info.
For a 2010 4x2 supercab you have a 12,500 lb tow cap and a 1950 lb cargo cap.
