Is Lance the “gold” standard

I have been looking, kind of, for a smaller trailer, one that is not only shorter, but also not as wide as “normal” (8 feet). I have looked online at the Winnebago Minnie Winnie, and recently found that Lance makes a narrower trailer. So I checked some dealer sites, and, wow! Advertised prices are at least $10,0000 and up more than similar Winnebagos. Can they possibly be worth that much more? Has anyone had recent experience buying a smaller Lance? I know it’s a seller’s market right now, but how much, if any, will they come down? If the advertised price is really the selling price, we can stop looking at Lance.

Go look at Nash or Arctic Fox trailers. They cost a little more and weigh a little more, but they're great trailers.

For what it is worth, my son bought a new Lance truck camper. Both he and I are blown away by the "fit and finish" -- all the corners and edges are crisp and precise.

Their manufacturing techniques appear to be far superior to anything else I have seen.

Is it golden? Don't know -- time will tell.

All I know is that my sister bought a new one last August and has had nothing but problems. She still cannot use her stove due to a defective part that has been backordered for months along with many other issues. It is a lemon.

Honestly. If the Lance travel trailers are no better than the Lance truck campers. They are not any thing to brag about.

I would expect Lance to be ten grand more than pretty much anything from Elkhart Indiana. The are a step above a but like the post says, I don't know about being a gold standard. Nice fit and finish. Nice bells and whistles. Same stupid barely functional solar. Their frame is not what I want in my off-road-able coach. If you just want a coach for local, weekend or short statewide jaunts, the 10k difference may not be worth it. More off the road and off the grid....start leaning toward Northwood and Outdoors RV Manufacturing rigs.

I think Lance, Bigfoot and Arctic Fox build trailers that are far above average in quality. We had gotten our choices down to those three when we were shopping for a new trailer. But they are not the same each model may fit better than the others for a buyer’s needs. We ended up buying a slightly used Airstream for about the same money as a new Lance, but it fit the needs for the two of us the best. A larger family may not have felt the same.
