We are seriously looking at buying a 31BHPR. It pretty much has everything we are looking for in a TT, the only cons we can think of with it is, it has curtains instead of solid doors for the bedroom and bunkhouse....that's about it.

Maybe because this one is so new, But i'm having a hard time finding any reviews or testimonials about them.

This is our first TT, i've rented a couple times and that makes us realize we want our own, we've been researching for months and have narrowed it down to this one.

Is there anyone out there that has any experience with the Bullet line that can give me their opinions?

Thanks!

I loved this post - we just looked at a 2010 Bullet 294bh and we feel in love. We are still trying to figure out if we can do it and work a trade-in with the dealer. I love all the input in this thread - it has been great helping us decide. Thank you One question the dealer is asking for 18,000 does that sound like a good price??

Look online at some of the new 294bhs models listed. I'm seeing brand new 2010 and 2011 models running around 20-21k. I'd get a quote from some of the wholesalers and see what a new model would cost you. Honestly, unless they are including a bunch of extras or options, (hitch, equipment, etc...) I'd want more than A 2K-3K discount on a unit that has been rented all summer.

It is a 2010 model, but the dealer rents them all summer so it can't be sold as a new model since it was used. It looks great though - my husband picked up a few minor things that would have to be fixed, but very small and maybe a little of a negoiating deal.

Is that 18,000 for a brand new 294? If so, that sounds like a good deal to me but perhaps there are significant price differences between the East and West coasts. The lowest I've seen for one of those in my area is 24K, although I don't know if there may be "option" differences between it and the one you're looking at.

While I was camping this past weekend, my 3 yr old son saw mom push 1 of the switches for the main slide so he thought he would help with the back room. However he was pushing the switch for the closed position with the slide already being closed. The gears grinded for about 2 sec before my wife stopped him. Guess what. The slide would not open because it was binded. I had watched the videos that were posted in this thread so I know where I had to go under the belly of the unit I have the 312BH. There was a 12x12 patch with 4 screws that I had to remove and then make a cut into the belly itself. Saw the motor and cranked it a few times on the bolt which gave it enough release room and have had zero problems since.

Don't you wonder why the manufacturers don't mount the switches high so a kid can't reach them? There are many places they could go...

okay, i am leaving tomorrow to pick up my bullet 31BHPR. it is an 2011 model. i am super stoked!!! i haven't slept in about a week. any other words of wisdom when i go to pick it up?

VirtualGarage-- I appreciate all the pictures you took and posted on your blog. i spent a good portion of last night looking and dreaming of our first outing. I think the first outing will be at Elephant Butte Lake in T or C NM or Tailgating at the NMSU/Bosie State football game.

I'm glad to help :C. Congrats on the new TT--it's a very exciting time!

CampinEarls put up a really great list that summarizes a lot of the info in this thread. The only thing I can think of right now is to test out the stabilizer jacks. I had to have all four of mine replaced under warranty because the stop bolt on them was defective: when you brought the jacks up the whole rod would keep unwinding. Also, the storage bag for my air mattress sofa was torn--I just received the replacement last week.

One last piece of advice: make sure you close the cabinet doors in the outside kitchen before you try to close it up. Don't ask me how I know ;).

Make sure the tanks are empty and drains are closed. Hook up the water and run the kitchen sink for a few seconds. Open one drain at a time to see which it comes out. That's one way.

Congrats!!

If this is your first TT, I recommend taking notes during the walk through.

Couple of things I wish I would have paid more attention to-
-How the TV worked-must be plugged in to AC power.
-Antenna Booster-must be turned off if using cable TV.
-Where the Water Heater By-pass is and how it worked.
-Run water in all the sinks and check the drains under them for leaks-all of mine leaked.
-The first time you hook water up to the TT-MAKE SURE ALL faucets are turned off! I forgot about the outside shower, no big deal, but i also forgot the outside sink, and the drain plug was in it, didn't know that till i saw water running down the floor to the front bedroom!
-Make sure they show you all of the fuses on the TT.
-Explain the LP tank switch over valve.
-Listen to all of the speakers, even outside ones-one of my outside ones was blown out when i got it
-Check the arms that open the outside kitchen door up, one of mine just broke loose the last time i closed it when prepping it for storage.
-cabinet doors-make sure the hinges are tight and not stripped out.
-Look at how to manually crank the slides and make sure you get the extension to do it, should be a flexible 1/4" drive extension, the motor is on top of the slide on the inside.

You may know a lot of this stuff, it's just things I wish I would have looked a little closer at or paid attention to while i was there.

If you haven't already, read through this whole thread and see if you have any questions about anything, of you might see something you want to ask the dealer about. Like, I had them install a 3 step step on mine because they said it was supposed to have one. Make sure they give you a manual for everything...slides, TV, Radio, Appliances, awning...

Enjoy!

Edited to add stuff I thought of as soon as I hit "post"

Check to see if the gray and black tank labels are mixed up. Make sure you have a wand for the mini blind over the kitchen counter. Take your time and make sure they walk through EVERYTHING with you. Good luck!

Yes, it's very simple. The mattress folds in 1/4's, zips in the bag, you pull the couch up, flip the legs in, then push it back. It is very simple, even though my description isn't. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for the info on the blind. It stays open until it is time for bed, then it gets closed to keep the morning light out; that's about it.

Thanks for the idea of the bins. Currently all 3 beds on the one side are occupied (I have 3 kids), but I can still use bins on top of the bunk over the kitchen.

Did you happen to see my question regarding the kitchen mini blind?

Ours had the wand for the kitchen mini-blind. It's just a standard one. Frankly, I don't really like that mini-blind there because with the window crank where it is, there is very little functionality for that blind.

The netting is a good way to save weight :C.

We've got 5 kids and the 4 girls use all the beds in the back. They like to use those cupboards to put their clothes, but I would rather they keep their books/DVDs/and PS2 games there.

I'm encouraging them to use the wardrobe/closet that's opposite the bathroom. When we camp, we don't really wear clothes that need to be hung so I filled that closet with 3 sets of hanging shoe holders. They hang off the rod and provide little compartments for the girls to roll up their clothes and use. The older kids get the higher compartments (because they can reach them). The smallest girl uses bins on her bed since she doesn't need the entire bed space.

It's great seeing more people getting this model (or at least wanting/planning to ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) because it really helps us all if anyone has a question or a problem to solve :C.

I returned from our trip to Minneapolis 3 days later than planned because on top of the flat tire that repaired, a worn tire that was replaced, we had a bent axle that caused one of the wheel bearings to fail. It was supposed to be our second to last day, but we had to spend 3 extra days in Montana (not a bad thing) for parts and repair. The entire axle and one drum brake was replaced. Thank goodness for Coach Net!

We spent 27 straight nights in the RV--our longest stretch so far. We're heading again this long weekend :C.

Oh, BTW, when I took delivery of our Premier back in May, I noticed that the bag for the air sofa mattress was defective (torn at some of the holding tabs). The dealer ordered a new one for me and it finally arrived in August. So I guess I'll be trying out the sofa for the first time this weekend.

Is it fairly simple to fold back together?
