We are seriously looking at buying a 31BHPR. It pretty much has everything we are looking for in a TT, the only cons we can think of with it is, it has curtains instead of solid doors for the bedroom and bunkhouse....that's about it.

Maybe because this one is so new, But i'm having a hard time finding any reviews or testimonials about them.

This is our first TT, i've rented a couple times and that makes us realize we want our own, we've been researching for months and have narrowed it down to this one.

Is there anyone out there that has any experience with the Bullet line that can give me their opinions?

Thanks!

All,

It's been a long time since I've posted anything, and I've been out of the camping scene for a while--just got back from a 1-year tour to Iraq.

To keep it as short as possible, the family and I are considering buying a Bullet Premier 31BHPR, and I want to go with the equal-i-zer hitch if we make the purchase. I've searched through the postings, but I have a few questions:

1) Should I go with the 10,000/1,000 or 12,000/1,200 hitch? Seems like the former should be OK, but I like to build in some comfort space.

2) Will I need any special brackets due to a larger frame size on the TT or will the stock brackets work (the dealer is an hour away, and it's not easy for me to check)?

3) I'm assuming it's a standard 2 5/16" ball size?

4) I've read that, with the trailer level, it's about 20" from the ground to the top of the ball hitch. Does anyone have any different info? Checking for shank drop/lift.

5) Will be towing with an F-150, 5.4L, 3.73, SuperCrew. Thoughts? Opening myself up for a lot of comments here, I'm sure.

Considered starting a new thread for this, but thought I would start here.

Thanks,
Mike

Couldn't agree more - other than the folding table, the comfort package was a really nice incentive. There may be a few 2011's still out there with the package, but I'll bet most of them are painted. Worth asking about, whatever route you take. Let us know!

Yeah, it's good. The 2012 models are going for $30K+ on sale.

24.5k sounds like a good deal, but I spent under 24 for my 2011 and it had the comfort package (central vac, upgraded mattress, drinking water tap and filter, etched bathroom door and a few other goodies). It is a non-painted version. Not sure where you live, but I would check our Dave Arborgast in Troy, OH to see what they have. Huge inventory, great prices and service.

My dealer said that the comfort package was a no charge add on that Keystone did to "test the water". While I can see how it adds value, I didn't think it added to the price.

Hmmm. I don't necessarily think that's a great deal. To be fair I've owned my Bullet for a good 10 months so its been a while since I played the haggle game but lets look at what we do know. It's a 2011 which means its already fully depreciated with the 2012 being sold.
I would play the RV Wholesale places game, that are in Ohio and so fourth and work your best deal to see if the price you are quoted is in your neighborhood. For me they were 3K cheaper than my local dealer. My local dealer WAS NOT HAPPY and tried to talk me out of it but in the end matched their deal within $200 bucks which in turn saved me a 10 hour trip!

Good luck.

There is a new 2011 31BHPR that is being "Blown Out" for a asking price of $24.5K. It does not have the full body paint but has:

  • Interior Camping Package
  • Aluminum Wheels
  • Exterior Camping Package
  • RVIA Seal
  • Winterization
  • Thermal Package
  • 15,000 BTU Air Conditioner

What is a good Out the Door price on this unit? I believe sales tax is 3% on the RV.

I've read about 75 pages of this thread. Love the gobs of information, my thanks to those that contributed to it's epicness.

I am all about light weight but to equip a 31 foot trailer with 20# tanks is asinine.
