Lance 805 on a Toyota Tundra?

I'm new to the truck camper world. Does anyone out there have experience with fitting a Lance 805 on a tundra. I have 2017 Tundra, but I think 2007 and newer would be similar body style and payload.
Supposedly this model Lance was built with the tundra in mind.
Thanks in advance!

I have no experience with Lance campers HOWEVER, my experience with Toyota Tundra pickups and my Outfitter Apex 8 may help.

I have had my Outfitter Apex 8 on a Tundra since 2004 without issues. I do have load range E tires and Air Lift air bags but that's it as far as mods.

My 2004 Tundra is still going strong at 120,000 miles. I know because I gave it to my son. My 2014 Tundra is a dream with the TC on it's back.

I routinely carry full water and lots of other ****, er, stuff with me plus another human bean. I know I'm over the weight placards of the truck but based on my personal experience, there have been NO ISSUES.

PM me if you want details.

I have a 2008 Lance 805 and its just a bit over 2000lbs on the scales. I have it on my 2016 F250 and needed to add Sumosprings and a Big Wig to get the things to handle properly (My 2004 GMC 2500 handled it better actually). I know it was marketed to half-ton owners but plan on it really feeling like you are maxed out when it's loaded.

Weights 3,050 dry and holds 30 gallons of water. Packed and ready to camp skimpy 3,800...realistically 4,000 or so.

GAWR for my rear axle says 4100 lbs.

Weight your actual axle weight, but looks like you are going to be close.
30 gallons of water -= 250 lb.
50 lb of beer,
50 lb of food and drinking water
70 lb of cloathing
30 lb of cosmetics
40 lb of tools
40 lb of blankets and pillows
?? fishing gear
?? camp supplies
That is just min most of us carry in camper.
You can ignore holding tank liquid weight if you camp with dump station around, but occasionally you will have to drive with the "stuff".

Go weigh the truck empty. Start from there. Weight of truck subtracted from GVWR is close to payload. But be aware of the axle ratings.
Or. like some folks have done, me included, buy the camper, throw it on the truck and go. If it breaks, fix it.

Payload doesn't work much with TC as most of their weight goes to rear axle.

Thanks for the reply. I'm still trying to figure out my payload.

dry weight is 1,400lbs, that's probably 2,000-2,400lbs wet and ready to camp. What's your payload?

Start with comparing camper "wet weight" to truck rear axle capacity.
