Anyone else feel like camping season may never get here? More snow last night, cold weather again today and our first camping trip is scheduled in about 7 weeks. I might be brushing snow off the bunks!

I head to the rustic woods to celebrate the yearly tradition of the Trout Season Opener. I celebrate it as a holiday. I drag it up to the catskills if the snow levels aren't ridiculous each winter.

Thats why all of us are smart people. Because we have the best of both worlds with our campers. We can take off to the south or head north.

first trip is next weekend solo with the dog. Hopefully it is better than this week's. Temp hung at 37f, 90% humidity, to 8 hour soaker today.
I am trout fishing a partially frozen lake with a canoe. The rest of the family may join for Saturday night.

Snow has finally melted, temps are above freezing, and I can actually envision us camping soon! 6 weeks away!

Trailer will be home in about 3 weeks and then it's time to get it ready for the season. 2 weekends planned in May already with a whole lot more in the summer.

Seeing you are from CT, I remembered reading a quote in this mornings paper from a Connecticut sports columnist, Mike DiMauro's. "There are nice people there in mid-America, further underscoring what a bunch of uptight, impatient nincompoops we are in the northeast. No, really. These people do polite as a habit." He was covering a NCAA tournament here. Lincoln was recently named the happiest city.
Now back to original subject.

totally agree!

By the same token, we wonder how people can live in places that have 3 times the cost of living that we do or 6-7 months of heat and humidity a year! Its all relative.

there are tons of places in California that aren't 3 times your cost of living. just stay out of the crowded places.
now taxes and regulations are another thing!:M

Okay, we have the highest taxes in the country. And Syracuse is the snowiest city in the country. And I've still got a foot of the stuff in my yard. We also have a near total lack of hurricanes, wildfires, tornadoes, earthquakes, water moccasins, giant, man-eating palmetto bugs or mile after mile after mile of stupefying, featureless flat. Plus the Adirondacks. Oh, and black flies. Oops.

I was going to get my camper home from its winter slumber at my parent's barn today. Did not feel like towing that sucker in the rain. She lets water in at the hinges. First trip is April 11th.

I feel bad for those who still have snow. We just have rain and more rain here in Oregon. I have never been more ready to get out. 4 coats of wax, serviced everything I can think of. Possibly too ready.

I happy to live in PA, and not have to deal with chiggers, fire ants, water mocassins and other miscreants of the south.
