List of RV's by features and options

My wife and I are considering an upgrade. Because we don't need to upgrade right now there are some specific things we are looking for. I was wondering if there is a website that lists the models by features or options.

Momma wants
- At least 1 slide out
- U-shaped dinette
- Bunkhouse model
- "Master" area not closed off by a curtain but some sort of walls.

I have been looking through the various local RV dealers websites but obviously that isn't going to have all the models. I am going to start looking through the manufacturers pages as well but was wondering if there was a searchable site by function.

A possible shortcut would be to start with the large volume dealers such as RVWholesalers and RVDirect. They have pix, specs, sometimes videos and floorplans. You could gather a good starting list from there. Then branch out to local dealers if that's your choice. FWIW, RVW does not post prices, but does post MSRP (somewhat fictional) but you can guesstimate the price they'll sell if for by taking about 30 - 35% off. They will email you the price and no negotiating. Believe RVDirect is similar. Much less than that discount, you need to keep looking.

Do you have access to a lot of RV dealers in your area? If not, you might be researching manufacturers that aren't represented by the dealers near you. I would first determine what manufacturers are sold in your area and concentrate on those first. Buying from and dealing with a reputable local dealer is one of the most important things for me. I know a lot of people have driven hours to buy an RV, but once you own it, you have to rely on local service.

I picked a couple dealers, went to their website, picked out a few models that met my basic needs, and then headed to the dealer to look in person. I ended up buying a TT that was not originally on my shortlist. The point being that on-line research only gets you so far in your decision making.

The other option is to attend an RV show, because they have a wide assortment of units that you can usually walk through without being hassled with a high-pressure sales pitch. And sometimes you can get good sales prices during the offseason.

The Rving Planet Finder is a good source, but I found that some models were missing that are on the manufacturers website. Most are there, but some are missing like the next years models. When I was looking, I just did it the hard way. I used this list and just went to each manufacturers site and found the trailers with the floorplans/specs that I was looking for.

just out of curiosity, would anyone be willing to pay for such a site? I'm asking because I work for a company that primarily compiles such data for car companies, but if a business case could be made, it might be worth reviewing.

That said, who WOULD pay? It would cost a lot of money to create and keep updated.

X4 no I wouldn't pay. All the information is available on the manufacturers sites.

This might help - you can't put on enough filters to get exactly what you're looking for, but it might help narrow some things down.

I wouldn't pay. I was hoping a version was already out there. I know that I can find the information myself with just some time but if someone had already done the work ๐Ÿ™‚

I would not pay. It doesn't take that long on the web to find what you are looking for and compare different models.

Well there was a website called Trailer Advisor that let you input your criteria with weights to determine what is more important. I used it as recently as last week, but it appears that the domain expired. Maybe it will comeback soon.

Your requests (all of them combined) can be found quite with any brand, make, and model (almost).

You'll need to search the manufacturers web site and just start bookmarking pages and taking lost of notes. Then go out to the dealerships and see your choices in person.

Thor Industries will give you a pretty good bang for your buck, and there are multiple 'brands' under the Thor umbrella.

Click here. Select "Recreational Vehicles" and have fun!

There is no such list. You'll need to go to the various manufacturers web sites (not dealers) and do your due diligence. Pretty much every manufacturer has that layout in more than one size. Good Luck...
