Locked Out

We are locked out of our trailer, fortunately, it is in front of our house, but we are planning on leaving Thursday for a 4 day weekend.
Has anyone ever Jimmied the lock? AAA couldn't do. All windows that I could fit through are locked tight. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Mine is the same. BUT. As we were leaving one day we locked the door. Then the DW remembered something she needed. She unlocked the door, opened the door, but then turned the key back to the lock position, and took the key out, and carried it in with her. After getting what she wanted, she came out, shut the door, and then remembered she left the key inside. Door was locked. Fortunately a basement door was unlocked. And we have a clothes hamper under a trap door in the bedroom. I climbed into the basement, pushed up the trap door, climbed into the bedroom, and unlocked the door. Now I have three sets of keys, and two of those sets always stay in the truck, and the truck has keypad entry.

A master key only opens the door mechanism lock, not the deadbolt lock.

Looks like you have a new trailer. Call the dealer and ask to borrow their master key.

I keep 2 spares in my truck at all times. I know this doesnt help now, but in the future. If i lose one, I have another. Plus I have a process that the key always returns to the truck when I am done with it, no matter what. Then I keep a set inside the camper too because I have managed to lose them while camping before as well.

So what, just cut through the paneling ... much easier and cheaper to fix that later than destroying a lock and having to replace it. ๐Ÿ™‚

Do you have a window called "exit window". It's usually in the bedroom. I locked myself out of my prowler bumper pull. You can take the screws out of this window from the outside and crawl through.

that's easy. Take a screwdriver and hammer and hammer the screwdriver into the deadbolt lock, then it will turn. You'll ruin the lock, but they are only about $30-35 at any rv dealer for a new one which anyone can install, 4 screws and it's out. Much cheaper than a locksmith service call

Here is my lock, the handle is not locked, but the deadbolt is. With any luck the little gremlin that took the keys will return them by morning.

I checked the pass through compartment, and there is no access. All the panels are screwed and glued to the aluminium frame. I hope the dealer can help tomorrow with a new key, if not, I will have no choice but to call a locksmith. Thanks for all the tips, and I will certainly get a spare key to hide somewhere.

I was in a campground once where the guy locked himself out and his 3 year old kid in (the child was sleeping). He was panicked to get in before his wife returned. He ended up sending an older kid in through the fan vent in the ceiling - had to tear the fan out to do it, but it worked. I told him to get a locksmith (2 miles form town), but he was truly panicked. The child slept through the whole thing and I bet a new fan cost him a few hundred plus the install. A locksmith would've been cheaper. Come to find out, the trailer was brand new and borrowed from his dad. On his way out of the park, he put a big dent in it on a rock. He told me he was going back to tent camping.

According to your SIG you've got a 2016 Coachmen (Freedom Express) 310BHDSLE ... that means it has a front pass through storage compartment with hatches that unlock with a CH751 key. Virtually everyone else that has a trailer will have one of these keys so either borrow one or buy one at your local RV dealer so you can get into the pass through. From there, just remove the panel that separates the pass through from the under bed storage compartment ... crawl through, push up the bed platform, and you're in. I'd use the same process with my own Coachmen Freedom Express 192RBS.

So glad I can't lock my trailer without the keys to begin with..

I know that does not help you at all.. I also can't lock myself out of my truck since it has a keypad lock on the outside..

Good luck!

If all else fails a flathead screwdriver tapped into the key hole works as a great key. Had to do this when this once when I locked the keys in the fiver and the fur babies were inside. Locks are cheap.

Must be your door handle locked and not the deadbolt. The handles are all like a master pass key for the dealers. Maybe your dealer can loan you a master key.
