Looked at a New 2016 Lance 1062 Yesterday

Beautiful camper and massive floor space as compared to our non-slide Lance. I guess that will be the camper we buy if we get a new one.

Anyone own a 1062?

Brad,
I've been looking for one to look at too. I just checked the Bankston site and assume that is where you saw it. It does remind me of my Host Yellowstone, only shorter and that would be a good thing. When I get back in town, I'd like to look it over. Don't buy it until after I get back :))

Yes, its at Bankston across the street from their main building. Take your heart medicine before you go because they have the invoice right on the table inside the camper. I think I suffered a mild stroke, but was able to make it back to my truck under my own power.

If we buy one it will be a special order because we are pretty specific about the options we want and don't mind waiting.

The AF 996 floorplan is almost identical to my Host Ranier Double Slide 950. My Host has a larger floor since the Host slides don't need a step for their design.

Host came out with that floorplan/model about 2000. We've really liked ours for the past 10 years. Host has moved to center bathrooms for their newer models though. We still like the open floorplan.

Stepping up the the 1172 or down a bit to the 995 would net you larger tanks in the Lance Campers

Artic Foxes do have more of everything including weight which is why we went with the Lance855s instead of the AF811! They are nice campers with larger appliances and in some cases nicer finishes but they are considerably heavier than most competitors!

Yup, AF 996 for more of everything. The 1062 only has a 22 gallon black tank, which you have to take into account that 1 gallon of that tank is to be used to prime the system (get ready for camping) so realistically, its only a 21 gallon tank once you take off down the road.

Check out the Arctic Fox 996. More storage, larger holding tanks, larger propane tanks, longer dinette (bed). Wet bath vs. dry bath, but gives you a larger galley. We had looked at the Lance, but chose the AF, glad we did!

Tiny gray tank.

Every time I go to an RV show I say something to the Lance Rep about the size of their gray tanks.

I hadn't even seen one until I just looked it up. The floor plan is pretty similar to the Host Tahoe 10 1/2 double slide that Host started building in 2005 or so. If you aren't necessarily wanting a new one, that might be worth looking at since Host made them for a number of years.
