Looking at a 2014 Ram 3500 Need Opinions

A buddy of mines bought a 2014 Ram 3500 Tradesman dually new back then to haul a 3 car trailer and DD in between. Now he's getting out of the business and having a "fire" sell. I normally won't consider something that was used commercially but I know he maintained it decently and didn't beat on it. Truck has about 168K and has auto tran what should I be concerned about or look for? I don't know much about the Cummins but are there any weak point in this drive train?

Truck was ready Fri but got a call back that the fan clutch and shroud were both damaged and needed replacement plus added 2 new batteries that failed the load test (orig batteries).

The service writer/ass't manager is a stroke was thinking about taking the truck to another dealership but it was a hassle getting it there. Met the mechanic yesterday who explained everything and made me feel a little better about bringing it there. It is also getting some recalls done one being something in the front suspension. I am now getting excited about picking it up supposedly later today.

After looking and seeing theirs little to no options for non OEM new parts I dropped it off at local dealership after talking to Asst Service Manager and making it clear how I like to conduct business (fair). I signed up for dealers parts account so I'll get the 20% discount on parts so that'll ease the stealership pain. So far the parts list is at 2500 but they hadn't tried starting/driving it yet. No one is sure how far it was driven with bad fan-hope the driver immediately pulled over and stopped. Driver showed me the truck but wouldn't expect him to admit to truck abuse lol

Well we know the answer now but if you have the window sticker it will tell you in the left side and if you had gotten the Asin it's also listed as a very expensive option on the right side.

Pop the hood, trans fill is on the right with AISIN and left with 68RFE. AISIN also has a factory drain plug on trans.

I would highly advise joining the TDR turbodieselregister.com they are the original RAM/Cummins group with many professionals and knowledgable people on there to share info with. Not a bunch of people BOMBING their trucks then complaining about the outcome!

Finally got trailer into tight spot in storage to retrieve truck. It really taxed my winch and trailer but got it out!

Well, looks like owner/driver didn't give a f...... about the truck, but that's what happens with work trucks.
