I now have an 02 F250 7.3 PSD. I do like the Ford body and the size of the 4 door cab. Dodge's 4 door cabs are not big enough for my liking so that leaves me to another Ford or Chevy/GMC.

I've heard bad storys on the Ford 6.0's So what are you peoples take on that?
I am leaning more on an 06 Dmax. Has anyone had issues with them also? I like the 6 speed over the 5 speed in the Ford also.

I tow only a 11500 GVW 5 wheel so it must be a long bed ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thanks guys!

huh...any Ford 6.0 diesel truck purchase has to be undertaken knowing you are taking a larger than normal gamble...yes, they got better as the years went by but they were much more likely to have issues than the Dodge or GM alternatives...BTDT and have the repair bill blues to go with it...

The Op is right on the money when referencing the 2006 or early 2007 LBZ GM DuraMax'es...they are considered by almost all of the diesel buffs, except for the Blue KoolAid crowd, as the Gold Standard for used diesel tow vehicles. The rising, not declining, resale values are a testament to their high popularity...check the pricing on used vehicle sites like Auto Trader. You will see the proof...

After the last two POS Ford's I owned, I am enjoying my Gold Standard DuraMax...

Regards

I'm not brand loyal, and I have looked at Ford and GM on autotrader and the GM is for sure more money.

I did find an 06 LBZ crew long bed with 115K miles for 24999 bone stock, and its red, and I like red....

oh and as far as an improvement, I don't have a 4 door now and lets face it a 7.3 isn't the most powerful thing out there. It runs great and all even with some mods, just the 4 door would be nice since its we're a family of 3 with 2 big dogs.

I don't want to get into this emissions******thats why i'm saying no newer then 06. Millage doesnt really scare me, its a diesel. I don't like the megga cabs because you loose alot of bed space, I do want an 8 foot bed.

If not happy with cab size you need to look at the Dodge Mega cab it is the biggest in the industry.

I had no problems with my truck. We bought it 1 year old (It was a leased model). Nothing major done to it, just normal maintenance stuff, oil changes, tune-up, couple tires, battery stuff. It's been one good truck. See my signature block below. (And best of all 100% paid in full)!
