Looking for suggestions on new Travel Trailer

We currently have a 2007 Jay Flight 29bhs which has been a great trailer IMHO. Wife is wanting a "bigger" TT with at least a "bigger" slide-out while keeping bunk beds. I told her I don't mind as long as we change to an Ultra-Light (for better MPG) that doesn't have an Aluminum Siding exterior, I'm getting a little tired of her wanting the panels replaced everytime there is a Hail storm.

I've been trying to find some models similar to the the Jayco White Hawk 29SQB and 28DSBH because they have a nice floorplan and a dry weight close to 5,000-lbs. I am also trying to stay closer to $20k instead of $28k. I have found a couple of them from dealers in other states for $23k but I'm guessing a transport fee will rack that up a bit.

Does anyone have suggestions of places to look and models to consider that could be negotiated closer to $20k?

Wife found a 2011 Forest River Rockwood Ultra Lite 2702SS that looks nice online.

These are the floorplans we are considering so far:

Thanks in advance!!

Thank you for all the suggestions. I went through everything posted here and made a list of ones to look at if this seller wouldn't negotiate. We ended up with the 2011 Rockwood 2702SS that she was originally asking about. My wife negotiated the seller down to the same price that we got for our 2007 Jay Flight 29BHS so this trailer didn't cost us $.01 outside of the Title Transfer Fee. My Equalizer had alot of wear on alot of parts so rather than replacing everything that is worn I bought a Reese Straight-Line w/ Dual Cam after having towed the trailer home with the Equalizer. On the tow home the trailer already felt lighter than the Jayco was, and with the brand new hitch added this thing is towing really nice now.

You mention no alum siding exterior. Check EVERGREEN EVER LITE line. This line is all alum frame and composite. We have had ours 3 years plus now and over 35,000 miles and are very satisfied with it. We spend 6-7 months per yr on the road.

Same boat here and likely between the white hawk 28dsbh and the apex 288. Need/want the bigger bunks for 2 and 5 year old boys an these two models seem to offer the most for the best weight

Check out Cruiser Rv. We have the Viewfinder 28BHSS and love it so far. Its basically the same floorplan as the Whitehawk 28DSBH. My brother has the Radiance 28BHSS also made by Cruiser RV. The Radiance was $19k and we paid $21k for our Viewfinder.

Get some quotes from RVWholesalers (Rockwood) and RVDirect (Jayco). Few dealers beat their prices. RVW has a leftover 2013 model in stock I bet comes close to $20k.

How far are you willing to travel to pick one up? Most Jaycos are made near Elkhart, IN as well as many other brands. Check out these guys. Is that worth a drive to get a great price on something you want? Also, I recommend RVCapitalWholesalers for Heartland products.

I bought from Wana RV. They were significantly less than RV Wholesalers, apples to apples.

I live in NM and bought a 2013 Whitehawk 28DSBH from Quality RV in Missouri, and saved about $7500 compared to what the local Camping World offered as their "best price".

Delivery was $1.50 per mile and I would highly recommend at least checking out their website. I had a wonderful experience dealing with them, and would look to them 1st if and when I buy again

99 % of them are junk. #1 choice airstream #2 Dutchmen. # 3 sunnybrook / winnebago

Anything in particular that makes them junk? The White Hawks we've looked at don't appear too bad.

Hmmm. Thor must have been the 5th choice, as he didn't chose any if his first 4.

Honestly. Jayco makes a nice RV, as does Coachman.

Thor makes airstream, dutchmen, heartland, keystone...

I've owned them all. stay away from jayco. I've owned 3 a 2010, 2011 and 2012. Didnt have good luck with jayco

Check out the Rockwood (by Forest River) Ultra Lite line and see if there is one with the floorplan and specs that you are interested in.Clicky here. Flagstaff travel trailers are also Forest River and usually have similar or exact same floor plans as the Rockwood TT's.

We have a smaller Rockwood Mini Lite, like it, and have our eye on the Rockwood Ultra Lite 2604WS, which has a super slide and is 29'8" long. I know volume dealers in Indiana (and maybe could get a price match closer to our home) that I could buy a 2014 model of that floorplan for $20 to 22K.

Good luck!

All of your perspective floor plans, have the entertainment center as a dividing wall from bedroom to living area. We had one, bed was too short. I didn't sleep well. I am only 5'8", my head touched the front wall and my feet touched the entertainment wall.
