magic chef 3 burner cooktop

my white cooktop looks like it was scrubbed with a wire brush and while it functions fine i am looking for a replacement. does anyone have a source for these? the only one i found was here but the holes for the wire racks don't match.. mine has 2 racks.

alternatively i could paint with some high heat resistant paint but that might not work as expected.

Re: Powder coating. There are header powder coats that hold up to high heat. Airborn Coatings has a line. Jet Coat dot Com

and here is the response from the company that specialize in powder coating:

Powder coat is not well suited for this application. The factory finish is a porcelain enamel which has unique properties of hardness, chemical resistance, and heat resistance. Powder coat, while better in most respects than spray paint, would not compare to the factory finish in this application.

I have an email out to a local shop that does powder coating and will let you know what I find out.

I was thinking powder coating too but it has a relatively low melting point, around 450 degrees. I don't know if the burner areas produce that much heat but would be my only concern.

after pricing some others online even if I do find one will be at least $100. sounds like a $10 can of heat resistant paint might be worth a shot!!

Look at it this way .... if you can't find a replacement, why not try to repaint anyway. If the stove top looks bad, what will it hurt anyway? (my philosophy is, if it's broke, I can't break it any more, so why not try to fix it. If I can fix it, I've done well. If I break it more, well ... it was broken to start with .. what did I loose?)

They make high temperature paint for repainting barb-b-que grills, Lowe's, Home Depot, ect which do work pretty well. Metal sand any rust or existing paint flaking areas and smooth it down. When you're done, it will look like new.
