Maxxis Bravo 771 tire

A few months ago I began researching new tires to buy next spring after paying off Christmas bills. Due to running over debris and severely damaging 2 tires I was forced into getting tires well ahead of schedule and available funds. As a result I had to get the first ones available at a good price. The Maxxis Bravo 771 size 285/70 r17 ended up being that tire I got. I was not able to find any real reviews or opinions so I figured I would post my impression of them.
They have a fairly aggressive pattern for an all terrain with ery deep tread depth. On road they behave and respond in a predictable and responsive manner with minimal noise. Driving in the rain as I often do in Seattle they have performed way better than expected with great stopping and handling in deep water filled ruts. During a recent trip across Snoqualmie pass and to Paradise at Mt . Rainier in snow covered roads I was able to use two wheel drive for most of the time until the snow got pretty deep. I have yet to try them in mud but feel they would do well for an all terrain.
Overall I would say I stumbled into an impressive tire and at this point would buy them all over again when the time comes.

Good review and thanks for taking the time.

I too am looking at different brands, as the preferred one is getting a wee bit expensive and if there is a viable alternative I like to know. Please continue your review periodically so we know how they wear and how the ride is as they wear and age.

Excellent reviews on these. Good choice. Did you get them at discount tire?
