Original post--
You know, I got to thinkin. Those of you who know me know that's dangerous. This is only a thought, I thought I'd throw it out there.

All of us travel. Duh, that's why we have campers. Who all would be interested in putting there names on a list of "Members Welcome". A list of members that welcomes other members to stay the night in their driveway when they're on the road.

Of course, opting-in would be completely optional. My thought here is that a list is done up with only screen names. When a member is planning on being in the area, they forum-email the other member for the address and see if that member is available to welcome guests that night. That way, the address is not out in the public and no unexpected surprises happen.

Just a thought.

-------------------------------------------------------

Edited 1-6-2014

We are going to clean out the list and start a new one. Go to the post dated 1-3-2014 for more info.

Here is the latest "cleaned up" list.

And yes, it's a screenshot, not a text-list. Sorry. The forum doesn't support any kind of formatting, like tables or tabs, so when I tried to list it as text it looked like a jumbled mess.

I am thinking about this. We don't have 30amp, dump or water but have acreage really close to mountain biking area plus live in the northwest part of Washington. We usually don't go anywhere from mid June to early September to avoid crowds. You can PM me if interested.

Added ourselves to the list. We have water and dump on our lot behind our house... we are currently in the process of having 30 amp service installed. We are in West Central Florida in the Crystal River/Homosassa area which is about 1 1/2 hour North of Tampa and an hour West of I-75. Please send PM.

So I'm starting up the list. There's a lot of good replies. I decided to put together some "rules/suggestions" based on the feedback given.

* Sending a PM will be the mandatory way of organizing this
* Personal info-address, phone #, should not be posted on the open forums by either party
* So as to not overstay your welcome, this is understood as being good for one night only, unless otherwise pre-arranged
* At least 48-72 hours notice should be given prior to your planned arrival, for several reasons. I personally don't check in here every day.
* If repairs/service is needed, ask prior to arriving. Some communities don't allow driveway repairs

Several of you offered up multiple locations. What I'd like to get is where the locations are---town and state, and specifically what amenities - water, power, dump.

So the running list I have based off this thread is:
(and if anyone can clean up the formatting, chime in--tab didn't seem to work to make columns)

As much as we travel I've never refered to this list though I think it's a good idea.

I've only visited people that have contacted me with specific invitations. And we've missed a few that have invited us for vatious reasons.

It's been enjoyable.
