I took the family and the TC to Stone Mountain for Memorial weekend. We covered 1197 miles round trip and the average was 10.9 MPG with the cruise set at 65 MPH. It is almost exactly the same fuel mileage pulling the 38 foot fiver. Must all be in the frontal area/wind resistance. This was our first real trip of the whole family (Wife, Daughter, Son, 2 Cairn Terriers, and Myself) in the TC. The Wife is a little put off by the lack of storage. She is used to the fiver but said she could learn to live with it for certain trips. I bought this TC last April with the intention of using it to go to Yellowstone. Long story short our Daughter tore her knee cap loose 2 weeks after I bought the TC, had surgery, and was in therapy all of last summer so we never made it to Yellowstone. Well this July we are heading that way and this was a shakedown trip to see how it would work. I need to get it to a set of scales and see how bad the weight is but the truck squatted 2 inches with a set of stable loads on the truck so maybe the weight isn't too bad. It was way more comfortable traveling than the fiver being able to pull in anywhere we wanted and getting back out easily. Stone Mountain was very nice and we hope to go back again. Here is a picture of it setup at site 11.
