Microwave buttons

We have never used the microwave as much, but I noticed that almost none of the buttons work. I can get it to start, by pushing the add 30 second button, but thats about it. Its a typical RV microwave. Anyone ever had this issue? I guess it can be replaced easily.

Sometimes my microwave will work after I unplug it for a day or two and plug it back in. MOST of the time it DOESN'T work after doing that. The microwave in my stick home was manufactured in April 1999 and it still works like new. It also has the touch keypad.

well in most RVs they would reboot every time you move from a campground.

We have this microwave in our camper. Try pushing Timed Cook first, followed by the amount of time you want it to cook, then Start. This will cook the food on high.

If you want a power setting less than high, push Timed Cook first, followed by the amount of time you want. Then push Power, followed by the power number you want, then Start.

Hope this helps. I will say that this microwave is much weaker than the one we have at home, so you'll have to experiment with the settings to get something to cook the way you're used to.

This worked for me - thanks!

Just went out and looked at mine. it is exactly the same and it does have Express cook for 1,2,3,4,5,6 minutes. you should be able to just push one of those numbers and it will run for the labeled amount of time at high power. you all can fire up an empty one but I won't on mine.

This is also correct, but this wasn't happening until after I unplugged it and plugged back in. Never heard of a MW needing to be re-booted ๐Ÿ˜›

Hey - people just want to be helpful. It's better than a 15 page thread about what food or spoons to bring...

Why?

You should never run a micro empty.

Used to be true. The newer models no longer have that problem.

xteacher, the fuse is NOT the problem. When I plug in the microwave, the display screen reads 000, the microwave beeps once and when I open the door the interior light comes on. I CANNOT set the clock OR program the amount of time I want to heat up my food. If I push the buttons on the keypad enough times (10-20) the microwave MIGHT work or it MIGHT NOT. This is why I have said it is a manufacturing defect with the keypad as the original poster, a friend of mine and others are having the EXACT SAME problem. I cannot talk to the manufacture of High Pointe microwaves because they are made in CHINA!!!

majorgator, The original poster was having a problem with his microwave. He touches the buttons on the keypad on his microwave and NOTHING happens. That is exactly the SAME problem my friend and I are having with our microwaves. My friend and I both have Wildwood Lodge Destination trailers with a High Pointe microwave. The original Poster also has a High Pointe microwave in his trailer. I don't know what brand of trailer the original poster has. I touch the keypad and NOTHING happens. I can't even set the clock. Sometimes IF I push the buttons often enough, E-90 OR U1.0A will display on the screen. Other times IF I push the buttons enough times, the microwave WILL work as it should. Then the next time I want to use it, NOTHING happens.
I purchased my Wildwood Lodge on June 29, 2013. It is registered as a 2014 model. My trailer is almost 3 months past the warranty expiration date. As such my dealer will not replace it under warranty. My trailer is on a seasonal site. Last year I used my trailer on weekends from July 2 - October 15 2013. Electricity & water are turned off on October 16. I next used my trailer on April 1, 2014 until now weekends only. I first had the problem with mine 2 weeks ago. It worked good until then. My dealer is trying to say the campground I'm in must have had an power surge to cause the problem. The original poster is in JACKSONVILLE,FLORIDA. I'm in INDIANA. Did his camper also have a power surge go through it? NONE of my other electrical components (air conditioner, television, etc. are having a problem. They ALL work good. This is why I mentioned in my other posts that I think it is a manufacturing defect.

Like I said in my first reply, I unplugged the microwave from the outlet on Sept. 15 and plugged it back in on Sept. 19. I didn't have any problems with it all weekend. It worked every time I used it. Yesterday (Sept 22) I unplugged it again before leaving for home. Today I went back to the campground because I forgot some things. I plugged the microwave back in. The microwave is NOT working again. Maybe I should have left it plugged in. The reason I unplugged it yesterday was because since I'm having trouble with it, I didn't want to leave it plugged in and it shorting out and catching on fire. A new microwave it a lot cheaper than a new camper.

If the above ideas for getting it to work don't pan out, you will have to unscrew the framing piece, but try unplugging it and let it sit for a few minutes. Some things won't reset without actually unplugging....just shutting off the power to the outlet may not work. Frustrating, I know.

Re manufacturing locations....we wanted to give DS#2 a real, honest-to-goodness made in US watch. The choices were $19.95 and really looked it, or WAY up over $500+ and higher, and that wasn't gonna happen. Finally settled on a gorgeous, very unique watch made in Sweden....guess that's a good compromise. Just got 3 new chairs for the LR - recliners - heavy - bulky - turn it upside down and the label says.......you got it! Do we actually manufacture anything here any more? Never mind.

I just called the phone number (574-848-1118) that I found for High Pointe microwaves. The lady I talked to said that her company is just a distributer of the microwaves and NOT the manufacture. The microwave has a ONE year warranty and they will replace it for free if you purchased it within the one year time. Also surprise, surprise, guess where High Pointe microwaves are manufactured. You are correct. They are manufactured in the same country as the tires that come standard on RVs, CHINA!! Go figure! I was wanting to get something started about a manufacturing defect since the problem I'm having with my microwave is VERY common. The lady I talked to said her company does NOT provide any technical support for the microwaves, they ONLY distribute them. I wonder what would happen if many of us that have High Pointe microwaves called the phone number I provided and complained??

2012Coleman, similar to what Bumpyroad said, open a cabinet door beside the microwave. I'll bet you'll see the microwave power cord coming through a hole in the side of the cabinet and going to an outlet.
I think you guys are right. Remember seeing this in the cabinet over the sink. Will do!
