We have a Nomad 2014. We can niot get the door to unlock. We even went in thru the window to try from the inside with no luck. Anyone know what may be wrong? All the dealers are closed for the long week-end.

had a similar problem on our trailer. deadbolt lock wouldn't unlock even from the inside. couldn't get the deadbolt to retrack even with the screws removed. Drilled out the deadbolt lockset and then was able to easily move the deadbolt back. Needless to say that meant a new lockset assy. the nib on the deadbolt key mechanism has broken off and jammed in the mechanism.

Is your lock a Trimark?

If it is the striker connection is made out of pot metal and it has broke off inside the lock and the dead bolt is out locking the door permanently.

You have to take the lock out from the inside and it is NOT an easy thing to do. Trimark now does make a "better", "improved" version that won't break but sadly that will not help you right now. ๐Ÿ˜ž

I took mine out took out the broken part and only use one of the locks now.

This is a VERY COMMON occurrence with Trimark. My advice for others is to NOT use the lock on the pull handle, only use the lock with the square key and tape off the opening for the other lock in case someone does use it. Because it's an accident waiting to happen and it will happen. Just saying.

Oh BTW.....this is the SECOND lock that has broken for me. The original lock that came with RV broke off AND the second new one I had installed while on the road that when all was said and done with that service call and second lock cost me $500.00.

I've read that the handles for the most part have been reinforced with better metal so they don't break like this. I'd replace the handle, making sure to get one keyed to your existing keys.

x2. These break a lot. They are just die cast metal and not very durable.

Door latch can usually be removed from inside, with just a screwdriver.

Our tt doors will not lock or unlock under certain conditions - it is always with the stabilizer jacks down so we are sure it is related, maybe the door frame torques just enough to snag or stop the bolt. If we lift the jacks, the door lock works.

Search the Forum for "broken lock", there are a few threads that deal with broken lock mechanisms and owners being locked in or out. IIRC, the latch breaks inside the assembly and removal of the whole lock or somehow moving the latch back is the required fix for opening the door. There are replacement latches and lock sets sold at the RV parts houses: PPL motorhomes

Trailers usually come with 2 sets of keys and many keys at that. Have you tried every single key?
