Found a nail in my passenger side rear tire. Its not losing air quickly at all, about 4psi in 3 days. Should I just repair or should I replace that tire all together? Tires are Westlake Super ST205/75R14
This is my first TT and first tire issue so im not sure what common practice is.

As a kid, I hung out with my grandfather a lot when he worked on things, and he always plugged holes in tires. Never had any trouble out of them all those years. Well, of course, I picked up that habit and always plugged mine. Well, not long ago, my wife ran over a screw on her way to work, so I plugged it and she went on to work. While at work, the tire had lost a little air she said, so I told her to take it to a local tire shop and have it patched from the inside. Wasn't long and she called me to tell me that since I had installed a plug in it, they wouldn't patch it due to liability. Called several local places before I finally found a privately owned tire shop that was happy to install the patch after I had plugged it. I must assume someone, somewhere must have had an issue with a plugged tire, sued, and won a lawsuit. Now some chain stores won't touch a plugged tire. Not sure if this is something going on Nationwide or not, but thought I would toss out the info just in case. Oh, and yes, the tire is on another of our vehicles, and have had no problems with it.

This is what I would do as well. When you buy new tires I would purchase 5 tires.

Trailer tires have been the nemeses of many a camper.

I had a nail in my practically new tire 2 years ago. I took it to the tire shop requesting a plug/patch. After examining the hole the nail created the tech said a plug/patch would require him to drill the hole larger, doing more damage to the belt. He strongly advised against a plug/patch.

He patched it from the inside and 2yrs, 3000 miles later it's still holding.

I've had enough blowouts. Personally I would replace it. Though my TT is very heavy.

I'd have it repaired. When its time for new tires, you may want to up-grade the tires to a larger size and ply rating.

An "umbrella" patch-plug should last the life of the tire. If you want to be cautious you can use it as the spare.

repair from inside with a patch/plug. they will pull the patch through the hole with the plug attached. the plug will seal the tread area and the patch will seal from the inside.

Shouldn't be a problem, as long as you don't run it too low and damage the sidewalls.

If the nail is through the tread it is easy enough for a shop to patch from the inside. A plug will get you to a repair shop but is not intended as a permanent repair. If through the sidewall you are looking at a new tire.

Forgot to say that the nail is through the tread.
