Hi there,
I am brand new on this forum and am very pleased to have found you.
I just sold a 17 Foot Tent camper and will be purchasing a 22 Foot Travel Trailer next week.
I need to find some inexpensive outdoor storage ASAP as I live in a neighborhood with very strict HOA.
We live in Portland OR and I thought I read something about $25 per month on one of the forums and now I am unable to find it.
I will need to store both vehicles
Thank you so much

You are looking at $70-$100 per month to store.

I store mine in Sherwood Oregon for $75. Uncovered. The closer you get to PDX the more expensive it gets unfortunately.

Thank you all for your help. I am not crazy I did read that you paid $25 and what do I know I am so new at this therefore my questions. I live in Suburbia and did find a farm 2 blocks away that has land just for that for $50 per month. On Monday I am going to ask the dealer if I can store it there for Winter. Another great idea. that is why I joined. Thank you for giving this girl some great ideas… and btw these snippy remarks do not face me, I am European and fortnight as well, only I don't hide behind my computer screen to be insulting.

Happy Thanksgivukkah!

If you're buying your new TT from a dealer, work in free first winter storage. A dealer near me did that for a co-worker of mine. It will give you time to find a permanent solution.

OP, glad you were able to get 1 of the 2 needed....sorry for some of the snippy responses....happens sometimes. Your HOA sounds way too picky for something like your situation and I'd be having a chat with the Pres or board. IMHO, that's ridiculous. Suggest you check with neighbors to see if they know someone with a bit of land you could use to store or get with the county fairgrounds. Might also check with some of the local RV dealers to see if they have any suggestions or possibly even have some storage available themselves. How 'bout a friend that has a really long driveway and would let you store it way in the back? The more I read on storage issues, the happier I am that we were able to build a covered area for our HTT and now the new TT....walk about 30 feet out the garage door and you're in + it's undercover 24/7. Good luck and Happy Thanksgiving.

I think your screen name says it all..."euphoria" tends to induce all kinds of delusions, as evidenced by your belief that you can find RV storage in the Portland metro area for $25.00 a month.

Take it easy on the OP.

The OP may have gotten the $25 price from a earlier post about storage cost fees from a posting from me, so don't be to hard on him.

I pay $25/YEAR for gated, locked barbed wired storage for each of my trailers in Portland. A 3 acre storage facility within our HOA. Course, it's a private storage area only available to resident homeowners in our HOA. I have two spots, one for a 35' trailer one for a 18' trailer.

It actually was free until about 10 years ago.

And the HOA is IMHO reasonable around "time in the driveway", a week is ok before it draws attention. Nice when you want to load early, or unload after the weekend, or do some work on the trailer.

We are in small town Western Idaho and pay $68/month for a covered pull through space for our TT (30' overall) plus room for two four wheelers at the back of the trailer. It is in a secure storage area with a second locked gate entry into the area where we park. I see several lots in this area with open storage, but I don't think that even those would have a space for $25/month.

TINWB ....
At varying times I have had 4 cars , 2 boats , 2 ( or 3 ) trailers , not simultaneously .
None have spent more than a week parked in open space , including my driveway .
The cheapest deal I have found is a farmer that has extra space .
They are not easy to find and will require some time searching on your part .
This will require constant perusal of ads and craigslist .
This will require immediate action on your part when you find that smoking deal .
I have a 1400 sq. foot garage in a restricted neighborhood in Bend .
I have paid over $ 125 per month since 1985 to have a covered shed space 13' x 28 on the north side of the building .
There are folks waiting in line for me to die , so that they can have my north facing spot .

How far are you willing to drive? Our indoor storage place decided to not store trailers this winter and let us know at the last minute. We had to scramble. We found storage in the $100 - $200 range but kept looking. We finally decided on the county fairgrounds that was about a half hour away. We ended up paying about $80/month for our 22 ft trailer. The only negative, you put it in and don't get it out until march.

I took the tent camper out to show it today and not 15 minutes later I had a citation on my door.

That doesn't sound like an HOA, it sounds like internment camp....I mean, I get HOA's not wanting overnight parking of trailers and such to keep the neighborhood looking nice, but you can't even have one in your own driveway working with it during the day??? That would push me over the edge....I'd move....
