Gotta say if I were in the market for new 1/2 ton truck I'd have to definitely test drive one of these. From the article it sounds like Ford is setting the 1/2 ton bar even higher.

Ford didn't have the best 1/2 ton for my goals. But they may in the near future when they bring out the new small diesel.

Looks to me like the best half ton truck is getting better. I have zero interest in ever owning a half ton truck again, however.

This is the reason I bought a used Motor Home. Paid half as much as I would have paid out for a new truck. Besides I didn't have to buy an overpriced trailer to pull behind it. If these manufactures keep rising the prices on there new trucks, sooner or later there going to price themselves right of the market place.

Our excursion has almost 180,000 miles and it has pulled a 33 ft TT for many miles. The price of a new pickup is so high it was cheaper to buy a good used MH. I also got a 2013 toad and still came out cheaper.

First out with 10 speeds. I think it will perform well. I am a bit surprised that there is only a 150 RPM drop in the 10 speed vs the 6 speed at 70 MPH.

That will certainly improve the MPG on the 2.7 EB. Between the new tranny and lighter weight aluminum truck, they should give the EcoDiesel a run for its money in MPG.

Interesting article, thanks for the link.
Even with the extra capability there is no change to tow ratings.......nope no marketing at all in a tow spec, engineering all the way. 🙂

Ford Explorer or Chrysler 300C to tow with.
Tracer Air 238 to be towed.
Triumph Thunderbird Sport - with the toy-hauler gone it's at home.
Retired very early and loving it.
