New Ram redesign

Anybody heard a timeline for the new Ram redesign release date? With all this news about the new Super Duty it would be nice to hear something from FCA. Are they going to use Aluminum? What about any new engines or output upgrades? I wish they'd start some suspense or something to perk our interest.

Some think we could reverse the global economy we are in! One such ill informed potty mouth "reality star" wants to be the Pres, and even talks about walls.

We have been skewered and put over a fire, and they just keep turning up the heat. Anyone that believes the "reality star" will turn the heat down is in for a big surprise, as he is part of the 1% ownership group that controls the furnace they match the lambs into.

I wish the RAM's were "Assembled" in USA instead of Mexico like my two 98's were in St Louis. But given a choice I prefer my Cummins engine that is Made/Assembled in Columbus, IN.

When researching the Nissan with 5L Cummins V8, I read that the 5L Cummins' CGI block came from Brazil, the Heads from Mexico and the Holset Turbo from England (owned by Cummins). Designed, engineered and assembled in Columbus IN.

Suspect any new model coming out of Columbus will have more international components as Cummins expands worldwide.

You can add the company that developed the CGI metal alloys was German. Holset as acquired by Cummins, I think they were involved with Perkins diesels at one stage. Outside NA , Cummins associated with Industrial and Railway engines built in Pune India/ England. Cummins small Pickup engines are built in China for the Chinese market. Unlike NA, Cummins has no profile in the European truck market, all engines are proprietary.
Has some input in Australia, providing engines for Kenworth, Mack(Optional) and IVECO( Optional for Double B models)

The raw block does come from Brazil for the 6.7. It is machined in Columbus.

Kinda a shocker to some! Like when you tell people their REESE 5er hitch is Made in Mexico or their Curt 5er hitch is Made in China.

Dumping, moving, whatever you want to say the fact is soon the CMEP plant will only build for RAM.

Says volumes, yes it does. I would say they are planning on building more for RAM and need the production capacity. Or it's just more efficient to build for only one user at this plant.

I think it's huge news for Cummins fans they will still be partnered thru 2019.

One of the greatest Ironies is Fiat has it's own sister engine of the Cummins, Tector powering the F750 like IVECO Eurocargo
The new Eurocargo’s hearts are Tector 5 four-cylinder diesel 4.5-litre and Tector 7 six-cylinder 6.7-litre diesel. The range includes seven power levels from 160 to 320 Hp, with a maximum torque of 1100 Nm, completed with a CNG engine delivering 750 Nm and 204 Hp.

"Hang tight the new 2017 Super Duty specs are going to be released this summer. I'm certain the power ratings will be impressive."

Let's hope so, they have had 18 years to come up with a awesome truck. Notice I said truck.
