to highlight a camper roof skylight leak in the wet bath.

Figured I'd check on the camper today after more than 24hrs of constant rain and flooding out here in Lost Wages. Sure enough I found where my bathroom skylight has cracked and is leaking down into the shower..notice the drop of water?

Well time to find a replacement....remember these are not the flat skylights these are the ones that have about a six inch bubble dome in them so you can stand at the shower. Bring $$...and now the search begins. Anybody have any vendor suggestions?

Here are more pics of the rain in the valley....CLICKY

Do they still have a vent that opens??

Yes. The vent is towards the rear of the bathroom.

Seems like the skylight is to create ceiling clearance for tall people, and for a place to absorb sun/heat in summer, and heat to escape in winter.

Too bad (or maybe good) that you ordered a replacement quickly.

My camper has two really nice, bronze colored, double glazed, acrylic skylights with aluminum flanges (not plastic), thermal breaks, condensation gutters, and blackout pleated shades, mounted horizontally. A 1.5' x 2.5' in the bathroom and a 2' x 3' above the dinette.

The flat top pyramid design has 8" of clearance from the ceiling to the skylight inside surface. They bring lots of light into the camper, making it less of a dark cave.

They are made by Dayliter. Mine are now 16 years old and still clear with no crazing, cracks or opaque areas.

They have a model with an inside roof opening of 14.5" x 22.5" as shown in this PDF. The flange to flange edge dimension is bigger yet. This size would work depending on what else is near by on the roof.

It appears from the image you posted that the manufacturer didn't frame the skylight opening in your roof and are only relying on the plywood roof. I would be tempted to not cut the flange and offset the dayliter skylight, enlarge the opening as needed (peel back the EPDM roof and cut the plywood), and then frame in and trim the opening on the inside (screw in a piece of plywood to fill hole near the roof rack mount, glue in a piece of foam insulation, and cover the foam with a piece of the existing ceiling covering from the enlarged cutout scrap). The aluminum flange will seal the opening on the outside.

Ordered the replacement from http://www.rvskylights.net/acrylic-skylights250.htm

I'd forgot I had a can of Rust Oleum Rubber Flex Seal in the camper so I sprayed it around the cracks until replacement. It did a great job covering up the insidious cracks and best of all -- no leaks!

I'll post the R&R process with the new dome....with pics of course.

Don't hesitate to use the outfit above, we lost our skylight when
a 50x30 foot building fell on our camper due to snow load.

The shipping was fast and the skylight very good quality...

What about using the aerosol spray stuff used to fix leaks?

This is when I dispise Northwood Manufacturing. You'd think finding a form fit and function dome skylight at a reasonable price would be easy - NOPE.

Internal (inner) hole measurement is 14x20. Outer skylight dimension (flange to flange) is 16.75 x 24. The long 24 inch line butts right against the roof rack vertical post mount. That measurement - from the roof mount vertical post abeam to the dome is 1 and a half inches (basically the skylight flange width).

So, go out there and try to find a tinted Skylight (at least a 4.5 inch dome) and outer flange (24 x 16) to fit....so far an exhaustive search an no joy.

I am gonna hate calling the manufacturer for a form fit and function replacement as I know this particular piece is unique. Just pixxes me off! Depending on that call and price I may just go this route (thanks Traver8):

I think that the OP is talking about the non- opening bubble skylight that
Arctic Fox uses in their bathrooms.......I don't believe that "any trailer place" will stock these as they are a specialty item.
I would suggest contacting Northwood about sourcing a replacement. A temporary repair should be able to fix this as suggested above.

If they are rectangular ...they are a standard item . I have a TT also (mine leaked ) and every trailer has one and like i said earlier , they are almost all over torqued and the crack is hidden by the dicor and after a while the crack gets bigger. I just called 2 trailer places near me and both stock them.

I cracked one of those on a low branch..i used eternabond tape to fix the crack and spray painted the inner dome white so we coukdnt see the repair from inside. We used that rv for a few more years, I have since sold that rv and totally forgot about that fix until just now.

Check out the options at rvskylight.com they have a variety of shapes and sizes available. I bought one for my hail damaged one in my travel trailer and found that they had the best selection and pricing.

if you are going to replace it anyways. Henrys 208 wet roof patch from any hardware store will seal the leak even in the rain and stop further damage
