Only ford in the lot

As I sit here in Goshen IN waiting for Jayco to fix our fiver Jayco is putting me up for the week. The motel I'm in is where many RV haulers stay when they are laying over here. What I noticed today surprised me, most of the pickups used by the haulers are Ram pickups with a few GMCs and Chevys. Only a couple of Fords here tonight. (One of them being mine) Seems to me that ford has done a pretty good job of ruining their name in the RV hauler industry.

About 10,000#s in horses, I'd guess about 9,000# trailer, so probably a bit over 20,000#s with riding gear, hay, food, water, and stuff loaded in the camper section.

Sorry I don't have a pic of her trailer. She lives in another state so it's not like I can go out and take a snap shot.

One big trailer although she only explained it with no photos that I saw anyway.
8 ponies is going to weight in pretty heavy, especially with hay and lack of clean up while traveling.

Don't have a pic but it's a goose neck trailer that holds 8 horses, has a changing area with saddle storage, then has a camper area with full dinette, sofa, and queen bed. It's very heavy with the horses and at least 35' long.

The deeper you dig into products the less chance you will find a clean purebred product.

The specific mini-car engine I researched was the Mitsubishi Vulcan 2G24. Once you start digging into the the design and who is still using parts of it, you find Isuzu, Suzuki, Hyundai and VW while Onan used the 2G25 variant in their generators. The Chinese renamed this engine to the LJ276 and more than one company is still making the engine under this number.

Hum, my sister is in the horse business. Nothing less than a F350 dually. All the horse people I know drive Ford Diesels, even if I would never own one. That's in Ohio.

Here in NW Indiana, it's Ford country. Our parking lots at the different facilities of my company always have the largest numbers of Fords, with Chevy/GMs about half that with 1 or 2 Ram. Dodge is not very popular with Ford being the most popular.

I agree, I would never own a 6.0L or 6.4L, but my sister has and never had problems. She does go through a lot of transmissions though even with her F450. Her trailer is huge. If it weren't for the excessive expense of using her previous L8000 Ford Semi to tow it, it would still be the vehicle of choice.

I guess it depends when you bought your Cummins. At one time Ford had over 10% invested in it. The whole industry is inbred, Isuzu is even mixed in with Cummins...

I was researching mini-car engines coming out of Asia and found the designs are shared, borrowed and stolen so much that strange combinations of parts will actually fit each other from different manufacturers that span the globe.
