Well, I went and ordered a Ram 5500 yesterday. I have been thinking about the trips I want to take and how i want to use the Host. I just decided I wanted a little more capacity. I'm probably being paranoid but i always over build etc. I don't always need the extra capacity but I just want it. I want to go back to Alaska flat towing a jeep and want to hit a lot of back roads.
I ordered a crew cab Laramie 5500. 60 inch cab to axle, pretty much all the options. Now I'm looking at aluminum beds to bolt on it. Prob take 10 weeks for the truck to get here. The MSRP is actually less than my 2016 3500.

Is that a crack that's formed from the camper rocking side to side?
If you are referring to the Channel, that is from the paint cracking, as there is no weld there. By looking up the channel you will see that it is welded every foot or less. Also you can see there is no deformation along the channel, either.

Although Host does not supply a shower head with a shut off valve on their newer models, we bought a brass, nickel-plated shut off valve from Amazon for about $9. It took only a few minutes to install between the flex hose and the shower head. Our first Mammoth was factory-equipped by Host with a shut-off. We were surprised that the 2017 model wasn't so equipped. Regardless, it was a very good $9 investment......
Don't buy the one at Home Depot. If you don't use it for a few weeks, it will corrode internally and seize up. Bought the one on amazon that has a thumb lever and works great.
