oven problem

I'm having a problem with my 2003 Wedgewood Vision oven. The pilot lights fine and when I turn the temp up to bake, the burner lights and heats the oven. Apparently when the oven reaches temp and cuts the burner back, the whole thing shuts down. Makes it hard for my DW to bake my favorite cornbread. Any thought from you tech savvy types?

I like the snuffing idea.
If the thermocouple were positioned incorrectly or if it were faulty, the pilot wouldn't stay lit in the first place. The OP lights the pilot. Later on, his wife turns on the oven and puts the cornbread in. The oven reaches temp and cycles off but won't cycle on. I think the gas flow to the pilot should be turned up to prevent snuffing.

My stove did the same thing. It turned out that the thermocouple had backed out a bit and was not in the pilot flame like it should be. Adjusted it and now it works great.

Before condemning the thermocouple; check that it is positioned properly in the pilot flame. Also check that there is an adequate pilot flame. When the burner shuts off it may be pulling the pilot off the thermocouple or even snuffing it.

THat's my diagnosis too. Thermocouple needs to sense heat in order to keep the microscopic flow of gas going to keep the pilot light lit.

When the thermocouple c-raps out, it won't allow gas to flow for the pilot light, then the oven FLAMES OUT! LOL
