Panda compact washing mchine - any actual experience?

I was looking at this Panda Compact Portable Wahing Machine with Spin Dryer and wondering if anyone had any actual experience with these mchines?

My RV does not have washer / dryer hookup so if I wanted to skip the laundromat on an extended trip, something like this might be the answer. Size and price are decent. Looks pretty easy to live with also from this YouTube video.

Thanks for your excellent information and reviews. I am one step closer to getting this washer. For me the separate dryer is not an option as I would not have the space. That said in these parts there is ample sunshine so drying outside would not be a problem if the laundry were done in the morning. DW and I like clothes dried in air, actually so that should not be a problem.

Could you tell me the make and model of the dryer?

How did you find the spin drying in the washer/dryer machine ... was it somehow inadequate and that is why you got the separate dryer?

We got the following dryer from Amazon. Panda Dryer

The spin cycle the washer provides does great for removing soap and water, but will never completely dry the clothes. We first started hanging the clothes outside but weather conditions had to be perfect, clothes were stiff and dry times took too long. Now that we have the dryer, clothes dry faster and "feel comfortable".

We tried laundry mats, but didn't like the process of hauling clothes around, watching/waiting for them, not knowing what was in the washer b4 us... plus it became a chore to find a laundry mat when visiting a new town/city (when camping at state parks).

We like the idea of cleaning clothes in the comfort of our own home... when we want... no quarters needed =P

If you get the dryer, I recommend you get the $11 indoor dryer vent, works great. Dryer Vent

Why not just go to a laundromat?

Many reasons for us:
  • You have to find quarters
  • There may not be a laundromat close by
  • You have to stay and keep an eye on the clothes
  • Not as flexible in suiting schedule for washing
  • Appears to be quicker for the volume of clothes likely to be washed during a camping trip, especially for a couple of adults
  • etc.

Might be different if you had a tribe of messy anklebiters. ๐Ÿ™‚

If it is like the Haiers, if you break that lint filter, you are -hosed-, so better seek at least 2-3 replacements.

Haier makes a model almost exactly like that, saw those in Aussieland.

What I want is a Daewoo Mini-Drum washer. It hangs on a wall... not that big, but better than nothing.

Hi,

So far, I don't much enjoy laundromats. Having a tiny washer makes a lot of sense to me.

Here is a link to the drier: http://www.amazon.com/Panda-Portable-Apartment-stainless-Window8-8lbs/dp/B0092JSGXI

There is also a spin only drier here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CDWTQKI/ref=s9_ri_bw_g265_i5?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=merch...

Here is another washer only:

Portable Washing Machine

Looks like it will definitely wash more, but then you still have to dry!

We have this exact unit, we also purchased the dryer. We are currently on a two year journey rving throughout the U.S. and needed a washer / dryer. We like staying at state parks or find some parks lack a decent laundry room. We are a family of 3 adults and do our laundry every two weeks. To date, both units are working without any issues. We utilize the washer in the bathroom, draining into the shower. Washer does great getting everything clean, spin/rinse cycle also works great removing all the soap & water. But, we were really amazed how well the dryer works. Jeans and towels do take some time, but we do those last...as we have the dryer in the kitchen, allowing us to watch shows/TV while the cycle completes. Just remember to clean the two outflow filters within the dryer. We've had these units for 3 months now and they are still doing a great job. Purchased them via Amazon with an extended replacement plan.

Some campgrounds don't want you to hang wash to dry. If you keep drying racks or clothes lines small you should be OK. With this in mind, the small loads can be a benefit.

That was what we are thinking also. Probably won't be doing sheets and jeans and blankets but apparently it can do those also. Based on the videos on Youtube I am impressed so far. We already have the travel iron and ironing board. All we need is the washer/dryer and a drying rack. ๐Ÿ™‚
