Poll - Is this delam?

I check CL almost ever day despite the fact that I just bought a new TT about 9 months ago 😉 Cant help it. RVing is my hobby!!

You see trailers with delam posted from time to time and it seems pretty clear the owners don't know it.

Is the front cap of this TT delaminating or is it just the angle?

The front cap is not laminated. I looked t a new North Trail that looked the same way. Dealer said before it would be delivered they would have to repair the cap. Later models were corrected.

The trailer nose has buckled. This can be caused by a bad vacuum bonding job and not enough of the right kind of glue (adhesive) and not applied properly.

There is probably delamination going on there as well, but that is almost secondary to the structure of the trailer has been compromised already.

I saw the same brand (not sure about year) that looked the same on the front. It was listed somewhere around Raleigh CL & I even emailed asking about the delam. look. No response.

Typical North Trail front cap. Mine was doing that also, although not as bad. No leaks. Just shoddy workmanship.

It just looks like Filon that has delam. Water probably got behind it from the upper roof seam. RUN AWAY.

X2. I agree, don't see how that curved front could be laminated, and the profile is identical to our WhiteHawk. The curve of the interior Luan paneling(above and behind the bed) is greater than the Filon exterior piece.....and I do believe it is insulated with fiberglass batts, if it's insulated at all.

My guess is the the front cap is wood framed with the exterior material glued to the wood framing members and the interior wall material glued and stapled to the wooden frame.

It doesn't look good... some of the components are probably loose or separating... but it doesn't look like traditional delam of a composite wall to me.

Maybe delam.. I would have to check it out when the sun goes down. This thing is in direct sun light and I have seen the fiberglass get wavy as it heats up.

My vote is... maybe.. probably even.. but 100% of the variables are not accounted for.

Unless the decal includes a huge area of white background, and extends nearly the whole width and height of the front section, I'd voted delamination.
