problem finding the cause of a roof leak

Getting rather frustrating but I got a leak between the bathroom door and the roof vent in the bathroom. Rheir is the sky light in the middle of it as well. 2013 arctic fox 990 tjat I just re caulked. Thought that I had it before this last storm it leaked again. I did peel and clean the old stuff off and took my time over two days getting the new stuff down. Just thinking to myself, WHAT COULD I HAVE MISSED! Any advice would be appreciated. And it only leaked in very big storms twice now.

Did you guys use the tape or the eternabond caulk? Will have to order online and wait for a stretch of good weather. My wife is making me feel the butt end of a few jokes at the moment. Like reminding me of nearly sinking the boat when I forgot to put the plug in. Also when I forgot to close the vent over the bed one day and the bed was soaked!

I went around every vent and anywhere else I could with Eternabond. With a new camper your roof should still be fairly clean so if you consider doing it now is the time.

If I didn't want to really know where the leak was coming from, I'd use this approach as well. I covered EVERYTHING that looked like a seam on my roof with Eternabond before I had any frustrating leaks. Some of the talented DIYers can do the pressure test which either involves smoke of pressurized air and soapy water to see where bubbles show up. Shops preform the test too.

Yes. Filled the same amount that existed before and tapered the edges as to assist in eliminating any pooling.

Just made pizza tonight. There was a lot of smoke from that and I have surely enough high blood pressure from my frustration. lol. But seriously how does one do that test?

Did you re-seal all the screw heads on the skylight in question, not just the skylight-to-roof seam? That's a very common thing to have leak.

And remember - water can run along the dammest things before it shows up inside.... Just because the skylight is the closest culprit, doesn't automatically mean that's it.

The popular positive pressure smoke test would be your best bet.
