I am needing new shoes on my 2014 Ram 2500 with the 20" rims.

Options for factory 285/60-20 suck and my factory Firestone Transforce AT's are shot with 25k on them.

I'm looking at tires that are 275/65-20 instead. I have narrowed down to the following two options.

Hankook Dynapro ATm
and
Nitto Terra Grappler G2

Looking for opinions/experience about these two. Mileage, wear, stability, etc.

I believe most "OE" tires are somehow cheaper. Agree with the OP that tread life doesn't seem as good as aftermarket, even the same tire model. But it's only a ad hoc observation as I don't put much stock in tire life. Too many variables.
The nittos and kooks I can't comment on as I've never run either of them, but for new tires, consider shopping amazon. I just got a new set of Firestone MTs 275/65/20 delivered for $760. Not the tread you're looking for but there's some deals there. With mounting and lifetime siping I was just over $900 all in. Compared to somewhere around $1500 for comparable Toyos or Bfg from the tire shop.
Have bought every set of tires off Craigslist used for years til these. That's another option if you find some or are near enough a big city with lots of CL traffic.
Around here you could pick up a nearly new set of the Fierstones, takeoffs, for $500 or less. Takes the sting out of tire wear at that price.

I would encourage you to take a serious look at MasterCraft Courser AXT. I had the garbage firestone HT on mine and couldn't stand them. If your off the pavement with them hang it up. A family member in the tire biz here locally turned me on to the MasterCraft which is a subsidiary of Cooper and so far I'm beyond pleased. Great wear and road manners so far. And right at 10k miles they still look new. Off road they do extremely well to for an AT tire. Best of all was the price and 50k mile warranty! I honestly can't say enough about them right now.

All highway. They are the factory Firestone Transforce AT's. they are complete garbage.

I have the Hankooks on my Jeep, and seriously considered them for the Ram 1500 (went with Michelin LTX since this is a 99% hiway vehicle). I am very confident that I will replace the Jeep tires with another set of ATms. I probably have 70k plus on them (I do 5 tire rotations on the Jeep) and should be good for next summer. I do run dedicated snows on my vehicles, except last year, I left the ATms on, and they did well, but not as well as a dedicated snow.
