I was notified recently about a recall related to a fire hazard on certain Bullet and Passport trailers. Has anyone gotten this issue fixed yet? Any idea how the fix is done. They say it is labor only, no parts.

Edit: I meant to post this to the Bullet Premier specific thread. I am cross posting this there.

There are more wires in the fix, where do i find those? They are not all marked...One of you said you fixed it from the thermostat..how did you do that?

They need to add 2 wire nuts to the air conditioner wiring system.
My trailer is in for a fridge repair. The recall added 10 minutes to the technician's time.

Thanks, Steve-n-Vicki. It's nice to be able to double check that it was done correctly.

Friend of mine has a Passport, problem with the fridge (under warranty) but then the dealer found this exact a/c wire thing. Fixed it...but charged $ as that was not under warranty (trailer is 2 years old). Now...with the recall, he is going back for a refund.

Hope he gets it.

My dealer told me it would take 10 minutes. Trying to get some other things done as well at the same time.

I asked Keystone to give me details of the fix. They refused.

The place we bought our Premier from sent a tech out 4 days after we called. Took him 15 minutes and he was gone.. No parts, just rewired at the thermostat.

Wiring at the control box.
It has been decided the vehicles in this recall population may have wiring at the air conditioner that was not installed according to the air conditioner manufacturerโ€™s instructions. If the thermostat wires short together, there is an increased risk of damage or fire to the unit... The remedy is to separate the wiring at the control box of the air conditioner.

Recall notice.
