I am looking for the pillows to help with the heat coming in through the skylights. I have found the 14 x 14 size but looking for one for the shower skylight thats about 13 x 20. Has any body seen any other sizes? Thanks Michael

I'm someone who occasionally dry camps. The skylights may seem to let a lot of heat in when you are running the AC. But, they also can let a lot, lot, of heat out when you are parked in the shade and not running the AC.

If we are parked in a shady area under the trees I like to have the shower skylight unblocked. If we are traveling or parked in a sunny area I like to block the sunlight. I went with a low-tech approach by using three spring-loaded cupboard bars to hold a white towel. The sunlight can be completely blocked, or the towel can be pushed over a couple inches to let in a little light, or the towel can be removed from the bars when we are parked in shade. Works great for us.

Every trailer I buy that has a skylite I put 2-3 coats of white elastomeric roof coating on the outside and a insulation cover on the inside.

If I could afford to order a new unit it sure wouldn't have a skylite in the roof.

We also use the bubble foil the Pipers used but it is mounted inside the shower without opening the skylight. I use 4 mirror mounts from the hardware store and just arch a piece of the bubble foil up to the light held in place by the mirror mounts. This makes it easily removable which is handy when its cloudy or cold outside and sunshine is desired.

Has anyone tried a tinting film like the one used for car windows?

We purchased a roll of reflective foil at Lowes and cut three to the size of our skylights and have plenty left to replace them over the coming years. No worries of mold forming inside a pillow.

I just use a "real" pillow.
My used RV came with a couple of pillows just the right size.
