Somebody is Going to be Lucky

Somebody is going to be lucky. It is not me. I was required to return my 2017 Sierra 3500 Crew Cab long box Duramax Denali yesterday. After nearly 10 months, 24500 miles, and more than 500 hours, it had to go.

It was great while I had it, and got to experience the diesel world. However, since I am in Michigan, I will still be able to easily get by with my 6 liter gas engine.

I also got used to the pickup bed, as it is so easy to put hay, straw, goats, wheelbarrows, etc into the bed instead of using the stock trailer or removing seats and putting down a tarp.

So I went out and leased my wife a new 1500 Double Cab Silverado Z71 4x4 2LT truck. Now there is a pickup in the family for the next 36 months.

Why did you have to return the Dmax?

It was a corporate vehicle. It was used to capture data. The period of use ended.

My brother-in law does that as well but different car company, in his case Fords.

How I came by my 1997 7.3 4x4. He had it for data acquisition (he worked at SVO Dearborn at the time and SVO not only had the truck, they modified it and ran the mods in real time. When it came time for truck to get turned is, I snapped it up (with a little insider information). I had to buy it from a local dealer and it's been a great truck for over 20 years and still going strong and looking sharp.

There are advantages to living in the Wolverine and having family in the auto business. Not all the test horses get shredded. Some do but most don't and being at the right place and time is wonderful.

If I was to buy another, I'd do the same if I could. Ne's no longer at SVO. He's in corporate assigned to transmission development now.

You've definitely got yourself a gem with that truck! 🙂

Now we should all go out and get our wives a suspension upgrade. AKA push-up bra. 😄

My BIL has a Lincoln MKZ right now. Not my kind of vehicle. I think he keeps them 12 months.

MFL - I am fine with the mess! Adds some humor (and importance of grammar) to the summer days. Besides, I am really missing the truck. I have turned in many vehicles, and this is the one that I will miss the most.

I am not one to do spelling and grammar corrections, but this one, it appears, that you leased your wife out, in order to get a new truck. 🙂 Just a little mix up, of the subject, and object of the preposition. No harm, no foul, I make mistakes too! 🙂

Jerry

My apology to the OP! Sorry I messed with your post! I hope you and your wife enjoy the new truck, for the next three years. Sounds like a lucky person will likely enjoy the one turned in.

Don't even think about it. A good wife holds her value much longer than any vehicle ever would. A lifetime commitment!

But what if the wife is a gasser?
