Stumped about switch

We have owned a Starcraft 28BHS for a week now. There is a switch on the panel that I cannot figure out what its' purpose is. I called the dealer and they don't know either. They said they would call the manufacturer to find out - and alas - haven't called back. The manual that comes with the trailer does not have an explanation and is pretty generic in the trailers that it covers (boo).

There are five switch areas on the control panel area to the left of the door when you walk in. One extends/retracts the awning. Another turned on the lights for the interior and exterior. One brings the slide in and out. The fourth displays the status of all of the tanks and batter. Then - there's this little bugger on the top right of the group. Labeled "ON/OFF" - and I cannot figure out what it does.

Does anyone have a clue? Anyone with a Starcraft 28BHS?

thanks - david

Actually. I have the 289bhs. But that's the switch that does my LEDs in the skylight as mentioned
Final notice from MasterCard. Good! I'm sick of hearing from them.

I have the same model. That switch in my trailer lights up led lights in the dome skylight. Do you have the skylight. If so check and see if it has the LEDs lights around the rim. If so, they aren't working....

My Creekside has an unmarked switch that controls a small solar panel for charging the battery.

I also have a Starcraft 28BHS. I can't remember off the top of my head which location it is in but one of the switches (the one you are referring to most likely) is the master power for the Happy Jack beds. The controls for the beds are on the side of the fridge but the master power is at that control panel near the door to stop kids from playing with it.

Thanks - then my cut off switch must be broke - as it had no effect on the bunk bed operation. The bunk beds, however, stopped going down and will only go up - so I bet we've got some wiring problems. Taking it in in April for some service.

Can you post a picture of the panel. We may be able to tell you if you can pop the face off to see the wiring. I have a panel next to the door for 2 switches. I can push a knife blade or putty knife under the edge of the bezel surrounding the switch plate and pop it off. The plate holding the switches has 2 screws holding it in the wall. The switches snap into slots in that plate.

Thanks. Haven't owned any TT before last week. Checked into brands and folks say good things, but I was a bit concerned that I had purchased a pressboard piece of plastic. I now realize this will become a near full time hobby, both using and maintaining. ????

Well, enjoy your Starcraft anyway. They are great trailers!

Nope - everything everyone has mentioned is not for that switch. I'm agreeing with Starcraft that it's a dummy switch. I'm going to leave it on and see if there's anything that lights up somewhere - but I doubt it. Unfortunately the plate is not screwed in so I can't remove it and check to see if it is wired into anything.

It's really disappointing in that there is no manual / schematic specific to this model. The only manual that's available says "Starcraft Launch Travel Trailers 2015". And that covers a lot including tent models, etc. Poor documentation to say the least. (and by the way - I'm the type of guy who this will drive insane until I figure it out)

4X4Dodger - I just called Starcraft. They're sending an inquiry down to the tech floor to get some answers. They said that It also might be a dummy switch as well. I'll post what they say when they call me back.

I think that is the most likely explanation. Good Luck!
