next week with our 2005 Flagstaff 26BHSS TT & my TV is a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD. We are heading to the mountains of NC. Any advice for this first timer when it comes setting up camp, some things not to do or any other helpful tips. Been tenting it for over 8 years with the kids and we finally upgraded.

Sometimes. But other times cell service at the CG can be kind of sketch. We bring walkie talkies too and they work great. I just set mine on the console and listen as my wife talks me into the site.

This will be my first trip too. Going to buffalo gap state park in tx. We are going to stay at the local campsite for a night before hand to "get our feet wet" and make sure everything is working properly.

Thanks for the replies and great info. We are staying at Happy Holiday RV park in Cherokee. I did the whole set up in driveway and we all stayed in it for a night.

We made our first trip with a TT last month. Don`t go with the expectation that things will be perfect. Take your time with the set up. We didn`t get things level and could have positioned the trailer a little better on the camp site.

Good luck

When setting up first thing in is wheel chocks before unhooking and last thing out after hooking up is wheel chocks. No matter how level the site appears.

If this is REALLY your first trip the consensus in this Forum is to spend one night either in your driveway or local campground. We took our first trip last week (9th season) and forgot several items but we had enough food and wine!

Good advise given to include the note book. If possible, before leaving your house, double check the lights, gas, refrigerator, tire air pressure, etc.

Pack some beer, good walking shoes, maybe a good bike, put your feet in some cool water, relax, slow down, and have a great time!

If your staying at a site with water and sewer, make sure your power cord and sewer hose will reach the powerpole and cleanout before you unhook fron TV and set up camp.

It's always worth getting out of the truck and spending just a few minutes visualizing camper placement. First, to avoid potential problems, but everytime I skip that step we figure out later that it would have been nicer a few feet one way or the other.
