The continuing Saga waiting for my new Ram 3500

I am not sure what is happening with one ton Ram production but I know that my estimated ship date is today, the problem is that they have not started building it yet. Like so many others mine has gone from status D to D1 then back to C which was explained to me to be a soft scheduled status.. Sure would like my new truck.
On the bright side my F-350 is still running very well and B&W has not released the new hitch for the new Ram so I would not be able to use it yet even if it was here..
Would like to hear when anyone actually sees a 2013 Ram 3500 at a dealership.

Jim what are you getting MPG wise? I'm wondering what the highway is with the DEF compared to the non DEF.

Don, Been making several trips from Asheville to my camp in WV and back, a 255 mile trip, up and down, up and down, curvy and mountainous on the secondary roads and last several trips I've gotten anywhere from 16.2-16.7 mpg...truck has 3100 miles on it. This last trip up, I pushed it and ran 75-80 mph on the interstate and then slowed it down once I hit the last 40 miles of secondary roads and got 16.4 (all hand calc)...Evic is REALLY close, unusally within a tenth or two.

One thing I've noticed that is different between this truck and my 10' and 12' is once I get here and then do our "running around" of start and stop, short trips, start, stop and all, the mpg would start dropping with each trip....it also drops down on this one, but I can get up here and averaged 16.4-16.7 mpg, do all the running around we want, and still end up getting over or "right at" 16 mpg....could never do that with my other two trucks...

Driving to and from work, I'd run 13 to 14.5 mpg or so with the 10 and 12', or even lower...I can stay over 15.5 gallons fairly easily and get near 16 at times...

So far, I've added two gallons of DEF, needle is just below full, but I don't know how well the gage works...guess I'll find out...I'm not adding anymore until the EVIC tells me to, or the needle drops to half...I can get it for $2.89 a gallon at a Filling station about 5 miles down the road.

Chomping at the bit to hook up my 5er and tow it somewhere...really want to see how truck will tow, (expect it to do an exceptional job because the 10 and the 12 both did a great job towing it). The picture frame adapter SHOULD be at my dealership by the time I get back home next Monday.....

yeah, I'm hoping it'll tow better than the 12', though, I don't really know what better would be..The 12' did a most excellent job, no problems at all. I'm just procrastinating that the 13', with the beefed up suspension and frame, along with an extra 15 HP and 50 more ftlb of TQ will do JUST a tad better, or smoother, or, well, I don't know what I mean. BUT, if that adapter for my 5er/GN prep package is in by the time I get home next Monday, I'm going to hook up to my 5er and just tow it to see how it feels if nothing else...

I AM getting better mpg with this truck than I did with the 10 and the 12' and the DEF really isn't that big of a deal:)

Got a little over 3,000 miles on mine and have had -zero- issues. I love it, fit and trim are the best. For a 1 ton crew cab long bed 4X4 dually, the ride is awesome. The wife and I make up reasons just to get in it and drive....I'm expecting the adapter for my 5er/GN prep package to be waiting for me when I get home Monday....next step is to hook up and tow...and seeing as how the 10' and 12' I had both towed my 5er with ease, I can only imagine that this beefier, more HP and TQ truck, with an even better tranny should do an even better job.

Sorry FishOnOne, had to add that after we had to be told once again about all the 13' Ram issues you've brought to the front.....hard to believe, no longer than they've been available:B

From ALL the reading and research I've done on all of the BIG THREE, appears there is more than one camp out there with wet hens in it....not just a "Ram thing":R....but I'm sure if anything can be found wrong with the lowly, 3rd. place Ram, you'll do everything within your power to go out of your way to let us know about it:W

I'm curious about the updated 2015 GMC HD's as well.

FWIW, I drove by our local Dodge dealer this week and they had not received any 2013's yet either.

10 new 2013 3500's, 22 2013 2500's at a dealer here in Portland Oregon. I wonder why they don't have any in TX? You're a lot closer to Mexico than we are.

On Edit...I feel another Kodak moment as there were some real nasty's in that shop... ahhhh...Maybe for another day :B

I was at a RAM dealer about a month ago here in Texas (:B) and they were drowning with '13. I test drove a few and even shared a picture of one of the '13 that was in already for a turbo replacement. There were some wet hens in the RAM camp over here that day! :R

We have them all over up here. Not sure why your truck would be held up. Something sounds fishy to me.
