I tow an Arctic Fox at 9700# ready to go camping which includes 1200# tongue weight. Does the 2500 with rear coils tow OK or is it somewhat squirmy? Thanks, DJ

Unless you live in a cold climate. Can't hardly give the things away up here where I live. They all fail at -40*. Dealers typically order their stock without them. A friend of mine had a Ram 1500 limited with 4 corner air. It failed within, then again just after warranty. Repair bill was $3600ish. No thanks.

I'd fail long before -40 degrees, let alone the air ride suspension. That's why I have a camper, so I can escape the 20 degree temps. 60 degrees colder? You are out of your mind...

Agree 100% I've had vehicles with air ride suspension. Not my cup of tea for many reasons

Love my 17 2500. Handles my Layton no problem at all. Minimal squat even without any wdh engaged. I'd have no issues with your rig at all. This is my favorite truck I've had to date and I've owned all of the big 3. The 6.4 has a lot of juice even with my 3.73 gears. All 3 are good trucks but I liked the ram best when i was looking. Ive owned mine for nearly 2 yrs now and still love it as much as day 1. Good luck

Nope, fake news! Just ask sidecar flip....coils should only be on Buick's and couldn't possibly handle that!

First, get the "coil springs are squirmy" myth out of your mind. Locomotives ride on coil springs.

I remember when the Ram 2500 first came out with the coil rear and all the armchair automotive engineers and keyboard commandos said, "OOOOOOHHH THAT'S BAD!!!!!!!, as if the real automotive engineers that work for the the Big 3 are really dumb. The results speak for themselves.

I tow about the same weight as you and LOVE my 2500 Ram. It's my daily driver too. The only reason I would recommend the 3500 is if there's a possibility you might go with a BIG 5er in the future, then the 3500 makes sense.

I went from a 2500 to a 3500 dually with rear air.
I don't notice much of a difference in the ride unless I hit a really big pot hole. Then it will jar me a little more. But, just cruising down the road no real difference.

My coils ride great. They track well and don't bounce around on rough roads or railroad tracks. They are rated at 6500 lbs, even though the 2500 is class limited to 10,000 lbs. I think you'll be happy with them.

No they are great and ride better unloaded than the 3500. I did put Timbrens on our truck just to firm up the loaded ride a bit but the truck doesn't squat any less with our fifth wheel hooked up so that was just a preference thing on my part, not something the truck actually needed. There's a lot of talk on this board all the time about 2500 versus 3500 but on Rams the only difference is a 500 lb weight rating reduction on the rear axle vs the equivalent 3500.

You won't beat the prices at Dennis Dillon, FWIW. The closest I got when I bought my truck was at Larry Miller if you'd rather not endure the drive out to 2C land.
