Tie Downs

I've been looking for a used (kinda cheap) TC as a stable mate for my 5er. I have a Ram Dually, and what I've run into is that most tie down systems on these campers I've located are not compatible with my truck. Are there multiple solutions? What expense should I expect if I have to buy a new system that will work with my truck?

My truck is an 09 Ram 3500 drw. My only reluctance to going ahead and buying the Torklifts is that the TC I buy might have some that would come with it.

Depending on how far you are going you could get a set of Brophy tie downs to get you back home till you put on proper ones.

Besides safety, TCs aren't designed to be strapped down. They clearly have tide down points, but also can be damaged by being tightened too tightly.

If you are serious about buying one, go ahead and add the tiedown mounts and tiedowns. You will eventually need them in any case. They are available on craigslist from time to time but are essentially a one time cost.

Well.. kind of.
I bought my 4200 lb camper with flatbed and no tie-downs.
Used 3" nylon straps hooked up to jacks.
The camper moved on steel bed, so had to redo the ties and put them in cross patter.
Made 2300 miles home just fine.

If I travel to look at one and buy it, is there a way to safely get it home w/o proper tie downs?
