I just bought a 2011 F350 Dually. It is all stock with OEM General Grabber 245/75R17 on the rear. I will need to replace the rears soon. This is my first heavy truck, I have heard that Nitto is good. I have always usually stuck with OEM. Any suggestions? I tow a 35ft bumper pull 8000# loaded, as well as a 16ft Stealth Enclosed. I am in the market for a 30ft Gooseneck as well.

Are you saying the rears wore out before the front?

How many miles on the tires?

I went with Michelin MS2's 16K and they are wearing great!


The truck has 52000 miles on it and I just bought it. The tires are original. The fronts measure 8/10 and the rears measure 5-6/10 but look a lot more worn than the fronts. The wear seams to be uniform.

Nitto Dura Grappler's on mine.
Jeff,Julie,Amber,Brandon,and Casey and Winston ( our 5 year old Golden ) and Bruno the Pug. We now have an English Cream, white Golden Retriever as well.

I've stuck with coopers pretty much exclusively. Always gotten 50K+ miles out of them, and there's always been a tread pattern in an E rated tire that matched my needs. Currently I have the cooper ST MAXX tires, I needed the traction for where I live. I expected them to be noisy and rough riding....but they aren't. No tire noise at all. I'm extremely happy. Not hit on the mpg either. I'll probably keep running these as long as they make them. UNLESS I ever strike it rich and finally upgrade to 19.5" truck wheels.....

Hankook has a good reputation at a reasonable price. Michelin or BF Goodrich Commercial TA are a couple of more options.
