i have a 31 foot travel trailer. I want to take my motorcycle with me. My truck bed is too short. My trailer is new and I cannot afford to trade it for a toy hauler. i want to put a motorcycle carrier on my truck hitch and also hook up my camper to the hitch. what do you think?

Unless I missed it, the OP didn't answer these most critical and obvious questions. Until then, its pretty difficult to offer accurate advice. There may in fact be options, but I'm not about to offer any until we know what we're talking about.

I think you're asking for a crash. If weight is still ok, take the tailgate off and put bike in the bed or on a trailer behind camper if legal.

Unless you have a 1 ton truck, you'll be over weight for payload.
I'm guessing 1000# TT tongue weight + over 600# motorcycle + whatever for passengers?
If your truck can handle the weight, here is a Link to a loader/carrier for the bed.
If it was me, I'd be looking at a small toy hauler to put that weight on the TT.

Depending on your motorcycle, get a front mount carrier for your motorcycle.I have a bumper mount carrier I used for my Honda 90's..Worked great.

Have you considered taking the tailgate off? Even with a 5' bed you may be able to get the wheels firmly on solid ground, with the rounded overhang part floating above the hitch.

The weight would be more of a concern to me. My HD Sportster weighs in at roughly 500lbs. Even a dirt bike is 250ish. I have a cute little 50cc scooter that I pop into the bed when I go.

LET THE PAYLOAD DEBATE BEGIN.

If the bed of your truck is too short, it sounds like you have a big bike.

What is your current tongue weight ?

Yes, you can exceed the 10-15% recommended tongue weight, but do you have the TRUCK that can handle that ? I doubt it.
I'm an expert in only one field....I believe it's somewhere in Kansas.

They make a small trailer with 1 or 2 wheels big enough to tow a full sized bike. The one wheel trailer is made so you can back up without unhooking. So you would double towing. The problem might be that double towing is not legal in all states, so you have to figure out which states you plan to RV in. Double towing in Calif. requires a Class A drivers lic.and a medical physical.

There are extended hitches that will allow a light weight bike to be carried with the trailer being towed.
I wouldn't try to carry a full dresser on them.

OR

carry the bike on the rear trailer bumper.

I don't know how you'd actually do it and your going to need a truck with a capacity to handle both.
