Yeah, I have no idea who owns that place. Definitely a Mopar fan with lots of memorabilia. Never seen it 'open to the public', but I haven't gone asking either. It has looked that way for years.

What you likely did not see is the two fur coated razor blades which live in that room too. They will come up to the window and just stare at you if you stop while walking by. Pretty good deterrent for anyone who might have an inkling to break in.

It is a neat little town. Had we more time, we'd have explored it.

Glad you enjoyed the video. Highway 47 North of there was windy but a beautiful drive and we were lucky enough to catch a beautiful sunset at the top in a near perfect location for viewing. Just around the corner we were surprised to see somebody has house up there at the summit with that view. Lucky Ducks (or Beavers).

Take care,,,

You are in my neighborhood! Vernonia is about 20 minutes away from home, and it is on the route we take every time we head to the Oregon Coast. Some errata...

13:59 - On the right is one of our favorite places to eat. Black Iron Grill in Vernonia. Friendly, decent prices, decent food. Mom & pop type place. Bar & coffee shop too. If you have the camper, you can pull in to the parking lot around back.

14:26 - Camera turns to the river. Actually that is the community swimming hole. They put boards across the stream during the summer to dam it up.

14:39 - The Shell station on the left is the one shown in History Channel's Ax Men reality TV series first season during the Vernonia flood. Water level was at the top of the pumps.

14:52 - Notice how high all the houses are. Raising houses has been big business in the area since the floods of 1996 and 2007. The green field on the right is where the elementary school used to be. After restoring in the late 1990's, they relocated up the hill out of the floodplain after the 2007 flood.

15:19 - "One redneck" comment....uh, nothing special there. Just one of the locals! LOL!

16:14 - Yeah, Hwy 47 is a winding road at this point! Not much fun with a truck camper.

17:20 - Based on the number of bumps, you would never guess the entire deck & substructure for the Lewis & Clark Bridge was replaced a few years ago!

Thanks for the video!

Thanks for the video. Showed me some places I didn't stop at along 101 in 2005. So now I really want to make it back out there.

Depoe Bay is a unique place. I've seen some videos of the boats trying to enter the narrow channel of the bay. The bay was also hit with a tsunami in 2011 which was only several feet tall, but because of the shape, it was a very rapid current ripping up the docks and destroying some boats.

We didn't see any Whales this trip. We have seen a Killer at Seal Rock (prior video TR) and a Whale at Boiler Bay (Prior TR) on previous trips.

Welcome to my stomping grounds. It's pretty nice.

Did you happen to see any whales in the bay at Depoe Bay? Sometimes they are very close to the sea wall, right in the little bay.
