You're showing your age Rick. Why not look up the dimension specs to say a 2022 F250 and compare that to a 1995 or so F250? Make sure to have the comparable cab and bed length. You'll find the dimensions are only different by a couple of inches. Height of bed rails do not count nor does the height of the hood. Now if your comparing a 2022 to a 1949, then you're spot on.

I'll give the dealers some slack on the over MSRP pricing, I don't like it, but I bet their number of cars sold is half what it normally is, so I can see getting what you can for them.
Also if they sell for MSRP, there are alot of guys that would buy it for that, and flip it for $10k over MSRP the next day. I'm seeing this all over the Super Duty pages. Guys that ordered multiple trucks, and are selling them as soon as they get them for a profit.

Lol.
Nobody seems to be bitting Grit ,that's twice you attempted to get a rise out of someone. :B
Not quite a bite, but I'll jump in. For as long as I can remember...and that goes back to the late '60's, Fords have "sat higher" than a comparable Chevy. In my driveway, I have a 2009 MY Chevy 2500, CC, 6.XX' bed, 4WD....my math says that is 13-14 years ago depending on how one counts model years. I also have a 2019 F250, CC, 6.XX' bed, 4WD, etc...a 3 year old vehicle. Other than the F250 "sitting higher" (and the older truck showing it's use-it-for-everything 150k more miles history), these trucks are the same general size and appearance. They fit in the same spots on my driveway, at my work, and at my wife's work.
Compare either of these to my buddy's restored '65 "Full size" Ford and the 2009 Chevy or the 2019 F250 are both obviously larger..but surprisingly not significantly larger than my other buddy's '6X (not sure of the year) restored International Harvester CC pickup.
I think the "behemoth trucks" of today are likely the pavement queen 150's and 1500's with all sorts of upsized components that, in all likelihood, will never see a bog, field, or rocky hill.

Well, itโs pretty hot outside in most places today. Even here on the coast.
Fishin is usually pretty slow in this weather, but maybe someone will bite!

I agree that as long as they can get someone to buy for a higher price, they will sell at a higher price. Until supply catches up with demand, that's going to be true.
I disagree that discounts will never come back. The big players can't afford to let others undercut them and take market share. The exception is right now, they are cleaning up production problems and simply can't meet demand. One they start catching up, expect them to start fighting for market share like they always do.

But then if some idiot wants to be the first to have a new Lighting and is willing to pay than much, it makes it easier for me to buy less than MSRP.

Stopped in the local friendly Ford dealer this morning, they had a 22 F 250 loaded up XLT CC, 6 1/2' bed,7.3 gas up on the ramps near the highway. Could of drove it home for $8K over sticker lol. The sales manager told me Ford has stopped building Super Dutys, if you order today the earliest one can expect it is May 2023......maybe, and said expect msrp to go up across the board $4K by then. They had a shiny silver F-150 lightning waiting to be delivered, it went for $25K above sticker. They just furloughed 6 sales people.
People are out of their minds.
