Still don't understand how the Tacoma sells so well. It is as expensive as the Tundra and gets about the same gas mileage... I guess people are enamored with the smaller profile or they think that full size truck mileage is still horribly low.

Don't get me wrong, its a nice little truck. I couldn't justify paying $30K for a Tacoma that gets 16 mpg when I could get a Tundra for $30K and get 16 mpg...

I have been watching the holdover GM HD 14's of all configurations, slowly trickle away in this area. I think this Fall when the farmers and contractors determine what kind of financial year it has been, the HD's will sell much quicker. They are fairly heavily discounted as I understand, but I think those willing to spend the money on a Denali will want the latest version, even if they have to spend another 10K to get it. They will be harder to move in my opinion than the lower trim levels, strictly due to the buying habits of the people who purchase the heavily loaded pickups.

I agree the new interior of the 15's make the 14's look dated, even worse than they did already. However dated it is, it is a comfortable, and well laid out, interior I think. I am personally just tired of looking at it.

When we decided to buy a new chev diesel nothing was available any where for us. Called several dealers near our winter rv park and this included Phoeniz, Mesa chandler and Temp.

Phone calls came in during the trip south telling me several duallys trucks for us to see. truth was they were lying and that was before lying was ok.

After we ordered a new 05 I saw several dodge dually's for sale at different dealers. so what does this mean (Nothing)

Yes, the OEM metric is days supply. It gives a good indication on the level of inventory to sales.

Then we could attempt to define the perfect days supply.

Dadoffourgirls, this is more of a dealer metric than anything. It is just how the dealer network handles their inventory. I wouldn't confuse this with the OEM's sales. A better stat would probably be the turnover for all vehicles for each brand. A good dealer/company will stock at levels they can turnover quickly but also carry slower moving vehicles that have higher margins. This table does not really tell the whole story without the backdrop of something else to compare to to.

RAM did not make the list because they don't even make it to the lots as people are picking them up at the distribution yards!

This is the same nonsense as prior months. I am not sure why 45Richochet sees value.

First thing, they do not disclose their threshold. They do not state the source of their data, or what population it is from, and it is WRONG.

There has not been a 2014 Silverado 2500HD Crew Cab built in the last 144 days. So how can that be the average?

So I guess I am going to register a website, publish some charts, and have it posted!

Yes GM did hurt themselves releasing the 15 HD's,who would want the bland ugly interior of a 2014 when the 15's look so much nicer.

I like my 2015 2500HD. I do miss my 2011 1500 Sierra though but the towing police scared me out of it. 😉

That list does not indicate lack of inventory so being on the top list is good. Inventory is very expensive to carry and a quick turnover is a good thing.

Making either list is not what I would want. Fastest selling means you have not made enough product. 4 months on the lot means nobody wants one IMO.
