What is a "Small TT"?

Are they just short in length, or are they the cool new ones with non-conventional shapes and configurations? Our new trailer is small, but it is very much a normal travel trailer: bed, dinette, kitchenette, and bath in a big box. Is it considered a "Small TT"?

You know that you have a small TT when you need to go outside to have enough room to "change your mind".

I like it, but... Are we measuring box size or hitch to bumper?

Maybe the breakup should be Large, Medium, Small and Tiny I would place the " Egg Campers" in the latter category

I guess I would say that to me, any unit where the master bed can't be left in sleep mode while the couch is in use is small.

Scamp TTs are small, as are Casita & several other Molded Fiberglass makes.
Our previous TT, a 16' Scamp.

But our Lance 1985, which is very roomy & spacious to us, looks kind of small compared to many TTs & RVs.

Anything under 34 feet is small. That's how I know I need a bigger one ;>)

I guess 'small' is relative. Mine is small compared to those with larger ones. I don't think there's an official 'small' designation.

๐Ÿ™‚ Your trailer is "small" if you or your wife is on the verge of killing each other after spending 2 days inside your trailer because of bad weather:):)

Wife & I spent 4 months in AZ this past winter in our 18 foot Rockwood Minni Lite. After a trip like that we always tell people it makes one realize you have to like each other to live in the small of space!

LIKE EACH OTHER is the operative statement:) 34' 5TH. WHEEL can get small at times:):)

If the master bed doesn't have it's own room, it's small.

...and my 19 footer seems small to me also, until I run the slide room out. Then it seems spacious to me ๐Ÿ˜„

When I first saw the group, I thought of teardrop trailers and single axle trailers and the like.

sounds like an official designation to me. ๐Ÿ™‚
bumpy

I'll add to that. Anything 35+ is monstrous. How's that for an official designation? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Or maybe it should be like shirt sizes, S, M, L, XL, XXL?

I consider our 25' TT small. It's not as tall as most, and slightly narrower.

Our TT next to the Class A I previously owned.

The term is subjective, and our little camper looks massive to a Casita.

I consider anything 21' or under to be small. Seems like there is a big jump from 21' up to 26' or so, (medium) then 30' & up, which I consider large.

When you are trying to get into a site the layout & shape certainly don't matter, so those don't affect how I would categorize size.

But main thing is, does it suit you and can you safely tow it.
