Wife hates it after one trip. Guess I should have bought this first instead of a triple slide 5th wheel. ๐Ÿ˜ž

Of course, there is something in between a TC and FW - a small Class C ๐Ÿ˜‰ :

She'll get used to it in time. Downsizing to my Tiger was challenging at first but now I love it.

We've had everything but a motor home, still have two 5ers but they are set up at my son's lake place as cabins. We pulled a modest 28' to a lot of places and man fueling up could be a problem at times. Had to watch for stuff along the ground to snag it on. When deciding on what to buy for traveling and both of us enjoying the mountains and our privacy we settled on a TC, my idea initially and I'm the DW, so we could haul horse trailer, boat, or Toyota FJ on a trailer without becoming a train. Ours is only a 9.5 and quite old. With modest renovations it functions as well as a newer one, holds everything we NEED and stuff we probably don't. Just got home today from over 3,000 mile jaunt and I'm actually going to miss staying in it. Easy to clean up, everything with a place and in its place, easy in and out of campgrounds and maybe a 10 minute set up including a Tailgater satellite dish. We don't spend a lot of time just sitting in the camper but can comfortably relax to watch TV ifs we like. Everyone has their preferences and we haven't stayed married 46 years by not each making some concessions. I'm going to miss sleeping in our cozy little hideaway now till our next adventure. Good luck to you with your situation.

We went from a toy hauler to a truck camper. We were spoiled with the space and capacities of the toy hauler, so we chose the largest truck camper I could haul while still towing an enclosed trailer for our toys. While this has worked for us, we know our next RV will have more room, a dry bath and a side entry. Truck camping works for us and we like the flexibility of having the living space and garage as separate units - Now that I have a bigger truck, we have many more choices when we are ready up size.

Who drives? If you do, then inform the wife that she'll be required to drive half the time. She'll quickly learn to love the maneuverability of the TC :B

I've come to the conclusion after 36 years, my wife only likes "campers" ending in inn. Days,Holiday,Comfort,America,Hampton, etc. best of luck.

I am a wife. What's not to like about your TC? Storage is a problem? Don't bring so much stuff. I know, we overloaded at first but now, after 30,000 miles of truck camping, we leave most of what we initially brought home. And, we gals like our sit down potties which we have on our Hallmark. Maybe that is the problem if yours doesn't have a real toilet. Some posters on our RV forums for 5ers, coaches and Class Cs bring jewelry, many changes of clothes, entire sets of pots and pans, etc. I guess we are simpler and don't bring anything that is extraneous. To each there own. Did she say why she hates it? Looks nice to me.

Just goes to prove once and again ... If momma ain't happy, no one is happy.

So... there's an easy solution .... Just purchase a new TT and tow it. You'd have your TC and she'd have a TT. Problem solved!

That is what we like about Truck campers being able to park anywhere. Plus if a camp ground is full we can usually get a tent campground site.

So, let me get this straight -- 352 is in Oxford, and his wife does not like the camper and wants a fifth wheel. Lap527 is in Ocala, 20 miles away, and her husband prefers a fifth wheel, while she wants a TC.

There is a solution lurking in that fact pattern somewhere . . . . . ๐Ÿ˜‰

You started the wrong way. We tent camped rented a 34 RV for a trip to SD one time. Could not find places to park that big thing. Now she is happy with OurFWC Hawk

I looked at a TC like that one ......not sure if the exact same model or not. I liked the side entry.

The thing I didn't like about it was the lack of storage space. There wasn't even any storage under the dinette on the one I looked at.
If it weren't for the storage issue, I would have serieously considered buying it.

Yours may not be that same model .....but I would have the same issue with the wife with the one I have now if we had a tripple slide 5er first.:)
