I was cleaning my garage when I found my new Dodge Truck Winter Front Cover Ram 2500-3500. I never used this and I was wondering if many of you have used it before. And what applications do you really benefit from this. Example running in the 45 degree range, would this help at all?

I've never used mine. Seems like a pain in the neck, as when its cold enough to use, its usually snowing, which means salt, which will destroy the cover anyways. Seems a plastic insert behind the grille would be just as beneficial and stand up to road conditions better.

Good to know. Thats why this thing is brand new in my desert garage. I don't plan on being in below zero conditions. Looks like its going to go on Craigslist when I get back up to WA

When we lived in Kansas, I used one on my 93 and it helped it warm up. One year a left it on a little too long. Temps got a litle higher outside and I noticed the truck didn't have the grunt it used to. Finally ralized the winter front was killing the flow through the intercooler. Took it off and had all my power back!
So they do make a difference - both good and bad!

Needs to be well below freezing to be worth installing.

I used one when it was below zero. It helped my engine to warm up faster and put out more consistant heat. 45 degrees? Waste of time and might even cause overheating. I quit using mine after a season or two.

Go for a walk, you're bored, this is not a question.....unless you made a typo and meant to say -45 deg range.
