The camper is pre-wired for electric jacks and I've found where under the sink the wiring for the control box is located and all the wires to each jack are. Just wondered if anyone with a similar year camper could take a pic of the control box and wiring and could post it? The jacks are atwood and the conversion kit is rieco titan that is supposed to work for atwoods. I'll post some pics here of the process as I couldn't find much online about this specific application. Hopefully it will help others. Camper is going on a 2019 ram 2500 crew cab short bed 6.4 gas in case anyone is curious. Moving from San Jose Bay area to Carson City Nevada and looking forward to exploring all the national forests and new camping spots.Re: wife won't go on Long camping trips due to bad ride! What kind of tie downs? I suspect the rear of the camper is moving up and down causing the porpoising. I had a dodge 1500 with camper and happijac tie downs. I noticed in side view mirror the rear bumber was flexing up and down allowing the camper to move. Switched to tork lift and ride was greatly improved.Re: flip out dinette table broken can't find replacementIf you're anywhere close to san jose I can make you one. I am a professional cabinet maker. PM me if interested.Re: Henry Cowell Redwoods SP Memorial Day 2015Henry Cowell is a great place for hiking and camping. Just watch out for poison oak. Took my 4 year old there and he stepped in it and then stepped on my leg. I'm highly alergic so I got a pretty bad rash. Hey Buzz, from your old house on summit could you hear the shooting range that is nearby?Re: Vintage camperA buddy of mine had a corvair with the 150 turbo motor in high school. Lots of fun. Not sure about it powering a loaded up rv though. Why the corvair was deemed unsafe and my 68 porsche 912 with rear engine wasn't is beyond me. Both were a lot of fun to drive and we both survived our teenage years unscathed.Re: Vintage camperThey used a corvair motor and transaxle. Built by an aircraft engineer more like an airplane than car. Aluminum ribbing and riveted sheet aluminum and some fiberglass. Weighed around 4,000 pounds dry. Called the ultra van and recognized by the corvair society of america. There is a guy on the class a forum that has several which is the only reason I know about them. Never seen one in person.Re: Vintage camperCorvairs huh? Ever have one of the corvair based rv's? Re: War of the Worlds, a photoposé of the Page areaVery nice trip report and awesome photos. Thanks for posting and looking forward to reading and especially seeing more.Re: What Constitutes Vintage Class AI have a 1977 apollo I have been working on. I would consider this vintage and excellent candidate for restoration. It uses an all steel frame covered in fiberglass. No wood to rot. Mine had the motor rebuilt and converted to fuel injection by the previous owner at a considerable expense. Has plenty of power and purrs like a kitten. Only thing I don't like is the 70's interior. Been working on that and will start a separate thread when it's done. Mine is 26 feet long but they made 30 and 33 footers which are easier to find. Paid $5,000 for mine and that's because mechanically it was perfect and had even been updated in many ways. I regularly see them for $2,500-$3,500. Good luck with the search and let us know what you do. Re: RV Wine Glass RackMade these for a friend. Just used cabinet hinges and felt on the back side of the wood.
