We just about picked one up, but I'm worried about the overall length. We do a lot of camping in the mountains and an extra 3' makes a difference.Re: Need Suggestions on getting a tow vehicleI don't know the mileage, but my inlaws towed a tent trailer with a Pilot w/ two kids.Re: 2 1/2 to 2 adapterTry it out as is, then decide. Only you can make that call.Re: How disappointed will I be2 years ago I swithced from a 6L gasser to a new D-max. The only difference between my 09 and my 13 was the motor/tranny. I went from an average of 6mpg to 10mpg towing. We tow a 31' TH with one ATV and three dirt bikes. Although I don't drive the TV much for other than towing, the mileage with the deisel is always better. As another poster mentioned, the volume of noise in the cab is much greater with the big gas motor. Either way your fill ups are going to be $100. I've heard the new Ram 6.4 gets 10+ towing loads of up to 12k, but I have a hard time believing it. I agree your best bet is to go buy a commuter car.Re: 2 1/2 to 2 adapterI've towed lots with my factory GM adapter and Equilizer WD hitch. Roughly 10,000 TH. No issues or any apparent wear on the sleeve.Re: Toy Hauler Members Input PleaseI'm curious, why do you need to remove a current sticky? I checked some of the other threads and there does not seem to be a consensus on the number of sticks.Re: Toy Hauler Members Input PleaseI'm more interested in a pic sticky and a riding sticky that the WW sticky. Besides there's plenty of WW threads out there. Plus when ever some one wants to buy a WW, they ignore all the WW advice any how.Re: Considering switching to a 5'er, hitch question.I got some real numbers this weekend. Front is 4900, rear is 3580 which leaves me 2620 wet pin weight. Also not factory setup for hitch.Re: Considering switching to a 5'er, hitch question. My TV is a 2013 Chevy 2500 Duramax. What's the best way to tell if it's got the factory hitch prep? I checked the door sticker and it says GVWR 10,000, the front axle is 5600, and the rear is 6200. Does this mean my max capacity for RV, passengers, and such is 10,000?Considering switching to a 5'er, hitch question.Hello All, I currently tow a TT TH, but were looking to upgrade the bedroom to a walk around bed. There are a couple of smaller <35' 5'ers that interest me. My question is, do most RV dealers do hitch installs them selves? How much does a new hitch plus install go for? I have a long box 2500, so I don't think I need a slider, but I haven't really done any research either.
