can anyone give me thoughts on traveling south on 191 from Moab to I 40? Any serious hills, etc.. Traveling in a 35 foot Class A gasser towing a jeep. THX

There a step down a rim (south bound). A 200+ ft drop just north of the Hovenweep turn off (UT262). It is signed as 7% for 1 mile. It's one long gentle S curve.

That is a very scenic highway. Pavement was great when I traveled it 3 years ago. But don't miss Valley of the Gods near Mexican Hat.

You will miss Monument Valley if you take 191. Route 163 through Mexican Hat and Monument Valley is fantastic.

According to Good Sam Trip Routing, the trip from Moab to Chambers AZ (Where 191 meets I-40). The route is 274 miles, and the only grade is 24 miles south of Moab. Should be a good trip.

Drive it twice a year to and from Texas. Good road and little traffic. However, we don't stay on 191 the entire way, but after Monticello we take 491 and start working our way towards I-40 west of ABQ. Wee did the 191 all the way one time and found 491 a better, faster route, if you are headed to the southeast.
