There is a commercial on TV that says 85% of those traveling this year will go back to the same place as before. Is this you?

Yes 'cause that's where part of our family lives. Gotta see them every couple of years or so.

NOPE! Been going up to Friday Harbor Washington on San Juan Island the last 12 years. Daughter passed away in August, so no. DW & I do not want to venture over there yet. But still want to cruise the Oregon coast, Olympic Peninsula and all points in-between home & there.

We are sort of new in our RV community at only nine years and about 50K miles, but with car road trips and dragging the sloop to regattas we have covered a lot of this country in 30 years and over 100K.

Now we are almost entirely RVing and have no intention of going back to someplace we have been except possibly a return rally or to visit family/friends. There are just too many places we haven't been.

DW very much wants to do the PCH (south to north) but that may have to wait as a grandchild is arriving in early summer and this will be DD first and the first GD and someone plans to be very involved. Me, I just love traveling, but the first time I lived at an address was in college and it didn't take.

The same place as last time time or last year, probably not, though I did visit Budapest and Prague two years in a row and have visited Lisbon and London more than twice in one year. Thinking about going to Rome for a fourth, haven't been there at least five years.

Someplace I've been before? Quite likely, particularly when it is on the way to someplace new. Repeat trip to Budapest was about going to six new countries. Been to Paris and Amsterdam more time than I can count, on the way to-from someplace else.

Whoever made up that statistic about travel habits, probably missed the people who don't travel. Ever. Haven't been out of the country. Haven't been out of their home state. Haven't been more than 10, 50, 100 whatever miles. from home.

The 85% going back to the same place has to come out of the much smaller fraction that do travel somewhere from time to time.

We usually go to Acadia every year. That being said we like to try new places on other trips during the year. This year is a curve ball. We are going to a place we've been before but its been 15 years since we've been there so it will be a bit new to us. and we are camping in a different campground further south than before.

I don't think I've ever been to the same place twice, but I'm the kind that wants to see whats on the other side of the mountain.

I plan to be among the 15%. I may return to a few places also as separate trips. How does that count?

We have a membership in an RV Resort CG and of course we always go back there. :R How many of the 85% have memberships in CG networks? We do go somewhere else for an annual extended vacation tho.

The Oregon Coast is definitely worth doing every year if you have the time, and I don't think you can ever get tired of it.

I'll be doing both. A new trip to Alaska, then back to my favorite part of the country, the southwest. While I'll be going back to an area I've visited many times, I plan to visit new locations & see parts I haven't seen before.

I have a spot I like to go to each August for the meteors. I have places I have long wanted to see that I hope to get to this summer and fall. I haven't decided, for the winter, whether to stay in the same place or find a new one.

Right now I'm at a cg I've stayed in before, after two places I'd never seen.

Promised the Boss 43 years ago when we got married in Seattle,
(of course I was a sailor stationed in Bremerton) that I would take her every year back to see her family after we moved to Los Angeles my home.

How did I know "the outlaws" would live this long LOL?????:h

Aside from some some long and many shorts trips for me all the RVs we have owned fly up I-5 thru Mt Shasta,Portland and Seattle.

We like to find new places. Even if we go back to the same area we try to find a new campground. There are several places that we keep on our list for a second trip. Tetons, Glacier, Maine, Oregon Coast, Banff, Lake Louise.

When far from Dallas - new places - and we find some to put on the Must Return list.

When near Dallas to see the grandkids/ kids and southwest Arkansas - we know the best place for us.

Over a 40 yr working life that involved a lot of travel, we have eliminated many places off of our "lets go there list"

Like others have posted, when we retired, we started out going far and all over. Now we own a camp site and have grand kids. Twice a year to see the grand kids and we stay in the same place each time. The summers in our site and day trips from there, mostly to the same fishing holes.

So yes we will go back again this year to the same spots we were at last year.
